A friend who is in a long-distance relationship and wants to share his feelings on how he did his best to be happy for twenty-four months while being apart from the woman he loves. I also hope that this book comforts you. I hope it reassures you that you aren't alone, and that people everywhere are experiencing the same emotions you are. Long-distance isn't the end of the world, and if you have the desire, you can be just as happy apart from your loved one as when you are together. If your loved one is like my girlfriend, I know that they would feel better knowing that you are happy while they're away. Even if you aren't in a long-distance relationship, chances are that you know someone who is, and may be looking for some support. Whatever your reason for reading this book, I offer you some stories and insights that if only to dry your eyes for an hour or two, were worth sharing.

Review: Blake's extensive personal experience with long distance relationships has given him a lot of knowledge on how they work. I especially liked the chapter on emotional stages of separation. I feel those stages intensely with my boyfriend. This book was simple to read and easy to apply.

Review: I hoped this book would help me cope with my long distance relationship with a military cadet. The book is worthless. It is nothing but the author's sob story. There are no ideas, hints, or tips, just a story about someone else's relationship. I don't need to hear what it's like to be in a long distance relationship, I bought the book because I already know.

If you haven't bought the book yet, don't bother. You could get better advice from the six year old down the block than from this book.

Review: I loved this book! Bought one for myself and my boyfriend. Now he often quotes me passages from it. I found that everything Mr. Blake wrote about has and still is happening to me. It is great to know that I'm not going crazy and the emotions that I am experiencing are actually "normal". Thanks Mr. Blake for helping me get through this five month separation from my boyfriend! Best of luck in your own LD relationship!!

Review: I was hoping that I would get some good advice on how to deal with the difficulties of a long distance relationship. Instead, I felt that the author was really just telling his story. I did not find it to be very helpful in dealing with the problems relating to my long distance relationship.

I decided to go ahead and purchase it and read it for myself to see what it had to offer, if anything at all. I would have to say that I am impressed with this book, and unimpressed with the bad reviews that it has received. This book may not have a lot to offer in expertise, but that is because it isn't written by an expert. Instead, it is written by a man who has experienced long distance relationships himself. This book is his story, his opinion, and his suggestions. He has done and tried some things that I would never even consider, but then that is my opinion. I found that he has some very good suggestions, that even I am willing to try. Review: I would have to say that I am plesently surprised with the book.. no it doesn't really give any solutions to what you may face in a long distance relationship, but it is easy to read and in those times when you are down or depressed from being away from your love it will give a little perspective on where it is you do stand in your relationship.. any and everyone in a long distance relationship could have written this book, and that is why it works.. we have all been through it but it lets us know.. we aren't alone.
