Summary: It works!
Review: My husband and I read this book as part of our Hypnobirthing class. It has extremely practical and simple lessons for learning how to manage childbirth through deep relaxation and concentration. The main lesson is that when you free yourself from fear and tension, and free your body to do what it needs to, childbirth can be a very fulfilling, profound, and pain-free experience.

I had a wonderful birth, free from pain and fear, despite the fact that my labor was induced with the rupturing of my amniotic sac. At no time did I come close to even considering medication for pain (because there was none!). An added benefit was the great bond that my husband and I felt during our practice and the birth, with him guiding, encouraging, and soothing me. He felt like an important participant in the birth, rather than just a coach, cheering from the sidelines.

Summary: Beautiful Birthing
Review: This book is an excellent guide to peaceful birthing. Everyone woman should receive this book as a gift. It truly is wonderful. Mickey Mongan's method has been tested and proven true. I practice HypnoBirthing as taught by Ms. Mongan and my birthing experience was beautiful, calm and pain-free.

I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about the HypnoBirthing Method!

Summary: A must read for all moms-to-be
Review: This book is wonderful! It explains the process of hypnobirthing completely. It is easy to understand and is written well. The author explains how women experience pain in childbirth only because we are conditioned to think its necessary. Marie Mongan elaborates on this theory, the "Curse of Eve", as she calls it. After reading this book I definitely felt more confident about my pending birth of my second child, and I am more relaxed in my day-to-day events.

She explains how we are affected by stress and fear, how it works against our body's natural flow of labor. This book also explains techniques for relaxing and for inducing self-hypnosis. It also includes the different stages of labor and different sections for your birthing partner. It is not intended to be the only source if you choose this type of birthing process, you should also consult a therapist who is knowledgeable in hypnobirthing. She even has a website for more information!

I definitely recommend this book for any mom-to-be, especially if your first birthing experience was not what you wanted for yourself and your baby.

Summary: Celebrate the miracle of pregnancy and birth with this book
Review: This book was a joy to read and helped me to develop a calm and peaceful outlook during my high risk twin pregnancy. After reading the book during my fourth month of pregnancy, I inquired about taking a hypnobirthing course with a local certified hypnobirthing instructor; but the instructor was rather skeptical about me being able to benefit from the course with a twin pregnancy and reminded me of my higher chance of complications and cesarean section birth. Although my twin pregnancy did result in complications that required me to be on strict hospital bedrest for a month, the relaxation exercises and thought training promoted in this book helped me during my bedrest experience and during a long and difficult labor. When the physicians were close to giving up on me and told me to seriously think about a cesarean section even though the babies weren't showing any signs of fetal distress, I believe my calm persistence and my continuous mental replay of the "opening blossom" and "progressive relaxation" techniques, among others, helped me to achieve a mental-physical state that allowed me to vaginally deliver both of my twins.

Summary: Great! Every expectant mother should read this!
Review: This is an excellent book. It is very simple to read and gives you a great understanding of the birthing process. It provides you with the groundwork to keep a positive attitude. It helped me ease most of the fear of giving birth to our first child. The best pregnancy book I have read! I also suggest the birthing class if they provide it at your hospital.

Summary: The way birthing should always be
Review: This is one of the most important books I have ever read. I completely surrendered to this birthing method and had a beautiful, peaceful, quiet, easy, natural birth, lasting only four hours. I was able to achieve all of the hopes I had for my birthing. I hope more women are able to benefit from Marie Mongan's experience the way I did.

Summary: HypnoBirthing A Celebration of Life
Review: What an awesome book. Every pregnant mom should read this book. What an awesome concept, the power to birth free of discomfort and in half the time lies right inside our own minds. It shows you how to recognize that fear is what cause birth to be what it is today. By using this method you can eliminate that "FEAR", that "STRESS" and the discomfort that comes along with it. It is refreshing to see that birth is finally going back to what it should have always been, "NATURAL", loving, energizing, empowering and a positive experience that will last a life time. HypnoBirthing receives 5 stars from me. Definately a must read.
