Rating: Summary: Get the other one Review: This book didn't blow me away. There are some good pictures, a lot of so-so pictures. I'm not sure how anyone else could have done a whole lot better. One picture is seared into my mind. It is orange. If you have read the book, you may know what I am talking about. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Gore. On the other hand, "Joined at the Heart" is excellent and I highly recommend it. This one can be skipped.

Rating: Summary: not bad Review: This is a picture book for your living room, nothing more. However, it's not bad. The Gore's chose some nice photos but there is nothing ground breaking or especially memorable about most of them. Life magazine did the same thing years ago and at a cheaper price. This is an okay book but nothing you absolutely must have.
Rating: Summary: The Spirit of Family Review: This is a very moving book. Who would think a picture book could be so telling. The Gores should be congratulated for documenting families is such a creative, insightful way. This book is a keeper!

Rating: Summary: Real Families, Real Values Review: What an excellent addition to any home library! The Gore's have thoughtfully captured the faces, hearts, and souls of the real America. Its refreshing to see that the Gore's understand the meaning of the word "family," and that they are able to present their views without a heavy handed political agenda. Too bad some of the dubious reviews that are listed here couldn't do the same. I especially cracked up reading the one review where the author complains that the Gore book is wordy and poorly written! Quite a humorous concept for a picture book! Put this book on your gift list for Christmas, its a keeper.
Rating: Summary: Okay, but not great Review: While the Gore's have captured some nice pictures, I really can't justify the price of this book for what you get. There are other picture books available that are better and cost less.
