Summary: It's a big book . . . but definitely worth studying
Review: "Anyone can be an Expert Skier" is the complete Harb, a full exposition of Harald's notion that learning and improving on shaped skis should be simple and fast.

Summary: An expert's guide for experts
Review: After sifting through convoluted language and hyperbole, found some not-so-new concepts long recognized by expert skiers and racers alike. Information in this 214-page self promotional guide geared more toward satisfying author's personal ego than introducing new skiers to simple learning techniques. OK for the knowledgeable expert skier, but far too much work for the recreational guy who just wants to have fun. Perhaps a tri-fold pamphlet could say it all?

Summary: Yep! The Secrets of expert skiing finally revealed.
Review: An excellent book which explained the secrets of skiing in such a precise and logical fashion. The photo sequences were also helpful in seeing whether you were on the right track. I found that the moves and excercises he used in the books were easy to learn and emulate on the ski slopes. The speed of my improvements were mind blowing and the great thing about Harold's technique is that, you can take it anywhere ie. steeps, crud, bumps. This is where other systems seem to show there flaws! The Biomechanical explanations as it relates to ski movements were also a very good addition. The alignment section, showed me that I have been on the wrong path for years and helped me choose the right equipment for my anatomy and skiing ability. You will find that because his methodolgy is so simple, you will be able to analyse and correct your movements on the slope. I hope he writes a second book on skiing steeps, crud, bumps etc... you know the tough stuff.

Summary: A "Must Have"!
Review: Anyone serious about the fun of skiing should buy this book immediately, keep it in the glove compartment or carry-on and refer to it daily.

Summary: Phantom Move - Phantom MAGIC
Review: Before I read Harald's book I had no idea how a paralell turn was accomplished. I thrashed and muscled my skis around, listened to a ton of "tricks" from experienced skies, took lessons, but nothing made sense.

I'll never forget the first time I tried the phantom move, it was as if by magic I performed a paralell turn. I recomend this book highly to all skiers: Experts, because if nothing else it will teach you how to logically explain a paralell turn; Intermidiates, because it will take you to the next level FAST; and beginners, because you will never need to do a SNOWPLOW or Wedge as you learn!(Except as Harald says, a liftline maneuver).

Harald Harb should be congratulated for taking the mystery out of skiing. Thank you sir!

Summary: Stop Skidding and Start Carving!
Review: dramatic results in a single turn---7 seconds. in one run i went from skidding most to all of my turns to carving all of them. what i learned here and from a certified PMTS instructor gave me the tools to cope---more than cope, enjoy!---several powder days in colorado in march 2001. i was an eastern middle intermediate with no real pretension of progressing much. now i'm looking forward to expert status next year or 2003 at the latest. my youngest (7.5 yrs)went from extremely timid wedge-lock skier to real parallel left turns, mostly parallel right turns in two mornings' instruction. how i wish we had never got her started with traditional methods! this is the best way to learn from scratch.

start at the beginning and read every page. do not be fooled by this method's deceptive simplicity---it works so well you just can't believe it. then buy book #2.

Summary: Excellent Guide to Parallel Skiing
Review: Harald Harb enthusiastically offers a step-by-step, easy-to-follow process toward true parallel skiing. The same techniques used by experts are introduced incrementally from the beginning; there is no place for wedging, stem-christies, or skidded turns that must be unlearned as the student advances. The key is the "phantom turn" and Harald's varied exercises for committing this movement to muscle memory. His focus on a "kinetic chain" whose input starts with the feet helps to put the body's position into perspective. An excellent graphic feature of this book is the use of multiple photographic composites that clearly illustrate all of the key positions of a turn. Harb also includes color tear-out "cheat sheet" cards that the student can easily carry along on the slopes. Finally, Harald gives much more than lip-service to stressing the importance of proper alignment, and while promoting his own alignment system, he appears to have a solid grounding in bio-mechanics. Together with Lito Tejada-Flores, another excellent instructor, I believe that Harald brings a big plus to skiing instruction.

Summary: Excellent approach to skiing for any level
Review: Harald Harb's approach to skiing is superb. If the book lacks great prose, it more than makes up for it in the clear descriptions of a great new way to teach and learn skiing. As an over-50 skier, I moved my level of skiing up tremendously through the use of Harald's techniques. I highly recommend the book.
