Summary: A refreshing and thought provoking view of life........
Review: Beach Walks by George Thatcher In this well writen book, the reader is transported to their "beach" whether mental or actual. Mr. Thatcher has a wonderful way of communicating more than sights and sounds that goes to the heart and soul of the subject offered. Obviously, Thatcher is a man of rich life experiences and a high level of respect for life. His educated presentation is meaningful to readers (and beach walkers) of all ages. Around our house, one page can lead into a lengthy discussion. Thatcher's chronical is a treasure!!!!!! Son of a Beach Walker

Summary: A small, beautifully written treasure of daily reflections.
Review: Beach Walks is a lovely series of daily musings by George Thatcher, whose way of writing reminds me of paintings with words. George has an acute and creative sense of observation as well as a rich interior life! I am giving this book for gifts; a friend told me yesterday she reads my gift daily as a kind of devotional. Summary: Its essence is universal, transcending time and place.
Review: Beach Walks is more than a collection of thoughts inspired by years of beach walking the Mississippi Gulf Coast by an observant, curious and perceptive beach walker. These thoughts, often lyrical, are enhanced with various quotations from Psalms to Mae West and Stalin, and frequently include fascinating scientific and historical facts, as well as entertaining trivia. Though this book will be especially meaningful to those familiar to the Gulf Coast, its essence is universal, transcending time and place.

Summary: Introspective.
Review: For a land-bound Arkansas boy, BEACH WALKS opens new vistas of nature and beauty that I have not experienced as a way of life but only in passing on too-quick vacations. But Thatcher's introspection transcends the Coastal life to all who are one with God and nature.

Summary: It takes you to the beach, emotionally and spiritually.
Review: George Thatcher is such a gentle man, so kind and good and thoughtful. And because he is so well read, his musings of his daily Beach Walks are filled not only with things of nature, but with philosophies and appropriate quotes that make us ponder the reasons we don't take more time to go to the beach. But if that is not possible, reading Beach Walks is the next best thing to being there.

Summary: View interior landscapes as well as natural ones.
Review: I have just returned from a beach walk at sunrise. Awakening to a new day, the beach brightens gradually. A majestic, stoic great blue heron stands in shallow water. Black skimmers, having fished all night, continue graceful flights, their lower mandibles slicing the calm surface. Gulls begin languidly winging their way eastward. At low tide, willets walk on exposed sand flats, feeding on minute marine life. Now clothed in full light, the beach is active once again. A new day dawns! It is pleasing to have my little book, logging daily beach walks, listed by Amazon. The diary entries still appear six days a week in The Sun Herald, a Knight-Ridder newspaper serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The daily column may be viewed on the internet I wish that those who view the Amazon website could have accompanied me on today's beach walk, a peaceful experience. Each day's walk is different. As Pierre Bonnard, the French impressionist painter, commented, "...As for vision, I see things differently every day." For those who are housebound, unable to walk along these beaches, the human mind and reading become magic carpets to exotic places. Thank you for listing Beach Walks, a book now available and selling briskly.

Summary: Great daily meditation to join us with nature.
Review: In a world so hectic as ours, it is always a pleasure to be able to pick up a few lines of prose that returns us to the center and gives us reflections from outside our normally self-centered life.
