Summary: SONY RM-V701 Remote. Obsolete already
Review: The remote does not support DVD players nor does it supports many of the features of the SONY Surround Sound Home Theater System. However, I could not change the sound and effects options. It did effectively operate my RCA VCR and 50% of the functions of my RCA TV. The function switches are extremely hard to see in good light and impossible in low "TV room" light. It was merely a 1 to 1 replacement for my existing RCA VCR control. Nothing More.

Summary: No DVD player support; Lousey technical service
Review: This product, along with most of Sony's Universal Remotes, does not work with DVD players, not even Sony's own. Their technical support is lousey and rude. I was basically told "You're sc#$wed" when asking whether it can control a DVD player.

Summary: Very simple and straight forward
Review: This remote took only a few minutes to program my tv and VCR.It is very easy to use and understand. The only problem is that youneed to switch back and forth between the Tv and VCR settings. Theswitch to do so is very small as well. Otherwise I love this thing.I'm never leaving my couch again. END
