Review: After trying several LCD remotes I purchased this one and loved it. You can program several machines within one function key (you can switch satellite chanels plus change receiver volume without pressing different function keys in between. If you have direct TV with an RCA converter the remote is EXCELLENT. The macro buttons are a great help -- turn the tv,reciever,and satellite dish on and off by pressing just one button! Review: Best learning remote under $50.00! It recognized all my audio/video equipment including my satellite receiver and home theatre system even though each one is from a different brand. The keys that are not recognized can be learned (up to 25). The Macro function is outstanding; up to 16 keys can be programmed into each of three buttons. Easy to set up and operate. Excellent remote for the price.

Review: Hello all of you electronic lovers. I have your average home theater system. It consists of an RCA TV, RCA DSS Sattelitte, RCA DVD, Basic Cable, and to make it sound good a Sony Surround Sound System. All of this is using S Video cables, and Fiber optic cable for the sound. At first I was using a remote for each of the units, then I was able to use one remote for the RCA items, but that still left me with a seperate remote for the sound and basic cable. That just won't do if you are like me!I have spent countless hours shopping for, programming, and cursing at all kinds of other remotes. I took the time to read the reviews for this remote, and it sounded like a lot of the other remotes reviews that I had tried, so I was a little leary as to if this one would be any different. But I was bound and determined to find a universal remote that would control everything. The reviews that some others have done are correct about this remote, if you don't take the time to try all of the different ways to program it. If you just use the Auto code search, or the Manual code search. But if you take the time to do it the hard way and program the remote with the code set method then you will find that things will work much better. Also try different codes if the buttons don't all work with one code. Sometimes a few different codes will work. Just pick the one that does the best job. Now sure some of the buttons don't work exactly right when you first program the remote with the codes, but guess what reprogram the buttons that don't work so that they do! Duh. So if you are asking me this is a great item. But if it doesn't work for you then, well I guess that you are going to have to just keep on looking.

Summary: Finally a remote that does what it says.
Review: I also have gone through a few universal remotes before finding this one. I have made it work with my TV, DVD player, WebTV, VCR, audio receiver and two different cable boxes.
For the items or buttons that it wouldn't work, I had it learn them without any problems. For things like my WebTV that it didn't have any codes for, I just had it learn the most common buttons I use.
The only bad art is the manual. It doesn't quite explain everything well. But with a little common sense, you can figure it out.

Summary: Mixed bag
Review: I have a Technics CD changer that it can't control at all, and my Sony-Home-Theater-in-a-box is only partially supported. I can do *most* of what I want to do with the one control, but it is limiting, especially for DVD's with lots of extras--the controls just are too unwieldy (for example, the "select" button inside the circle of arrow keys doesn't do anything for the DVD - you have to press the enter button down below the seven). Kindof a pain. But, it's still better than four remotes.

Summary: Suits my needs, but needs improvement
Review: I have an large home theater setup, and I hate the idea of sorting through 6 different remotes to preform a single function. The RCA RCU810 really did combine all of my remotes into one. There was not a single function it couldn't handle. Despite what other reviews have indicated, this remote CAN handle another components functions while in a different mode. For example, I set the remote's volume up/down keys to control the receiver's volume no matter what mode it's in. So even if I'm in TV or DVD mode, pressing the volume button will always control the volume on the receiver. This keeps the button-pressing to a minimum. This remote is not without its flaws, however. As others have stated, the backlight is a nice feature, but the button to turn it on is hard to find in the dark. Plus, it makes a slight humming noise when its on. Another annoyance is that the DVD/VCR controls; ffwd, pause, stop, etc. are placed at the very bottom of the remote. This makes it very awkward to press these buttons, especially with one hand. Another problem which seems to be a common among everyone is the clock resetting. This is a very common occurance on mine. I've given up on setting the clock because it resets itself at least 1-2 times a week. Thankfully, you don't lose any of your programmed functions when this happens. If it did, I would've returned it right away. I think the problem is directly related to the use of the backlight function. Poor circuitry perhaps? Finally, some more macro buttons would have been nice. I can think of a million uses for this feature if there were more. This remote only give you 3, which isn't enough. Overall though, I'm satified with this product. It does what it says, and all my other remotes are now in a cabinet.

Review: I have owned this remote for approx. 5 months. It has worked very well for what I have. I have different branded TV, DVD, CD, and Receiver. This remote was very easy to set up, and is not a battery guzzler like some.

Summary: Great if you have satellite TV and a DVD/CD Changer!!
Review: I have tried about 5 universal remotes to get my surround/hifi system to work on 1 remote. I have satellite TV which makes it difficult to start with, as the remote needs to be Satellite remote centered to begin with. I also have a Toshiba 5-disk DVD/CD changer which many of the other remotes have a problem with (cannot get disk skip to work on the others). The remote is made by RCA, who handles the majority of satellite TV components, one of the main reasons why this works so well. It is visually pleasing, has a great LCD and backlighting function as well. The learning and macro functions work great, and I can turn on or off all 5 compents with the touch of a button. ....
