Rating: Summary: Works everywhere throughout 3 floor house Review: Rip open the box, plug in the tiny little power supplies (Which come in the box too!). You will need an outlet in the same area as your item you are going to control, but there is plenty of power cable on them. Extend the little antennas and remotely control your equipment within moments. They worked anywhere and everywhere in a 3 floor house, with no trouble at all. There was no trying different positions and places to get them to work, because they did. They are also very discreet, and after a short while I forgot they were there, as I don't have to be close to, or point the remote directly at, the Recoton extenders....Now, where can I get more transmitters, so I can use them all over the house? ---UPDATE---- I ended up buying another set in a sale, and put the second transmitter in another room, which worked instantly with the original receiver. So now I have two transmitters sending to the same receiver, with no problems at all. Now I have a spare receiver too :)
Rating: Summary: Looks good, works poorly Review: The one I bought doesn't work well. I bought it to control a Dishnetwork receiver in another room. The Receiver is pointed at the Dish receiver and is only about 10-feet away. The Transmitter is in the other room, and is also about 10-feet away with a wall between them. It will pick up some keypresses, but is basically very unreliable and doesn't really work well.

Rating: Summary: I give up Review: These things barely work at all. The receiver seems to pick up so much extra babble, that not only does it not relay signals from the adjacent room, it creates so much IR "noise" that I can't leave it plugged in. If I do, I can't even control the gear with the remote in the same room.

Rating: Summary: Unexpected Channel Changes Review: This product does what it is intended to do as long as there is a direct line of sight between the transmitter and the device you are accessing. HOWEVER, I believe this device is somehow responsible for unexpectedly changing the channel on my DirecTV receiver. This is especially a problem when the VCR and the DirecTV receiver are set up to record a program and some time later, you discover you have part of the program recorded and then the channel is switched to another or SEVERAL others. I've experimented and found that when the power to this transmitter is disconnected, or the signal blocked, the unwanted channel changing goes away. I don't have a clue where the errant infra red signal is generated to activate the unwanted channel change - perhaps a slight surge in the electricity.
