Summary: Complete Disappointment
Review: Bought the item ...No instructions ... Used my imagination and what I have read on several forums ... Placed the Receiver dirctly in front of the Satellite receiver box, about three inches away from the box infra-red eye ...Placed the sender in a room on the ground floor, about 50 feet away with walls and stairway in between .. Pointed the remote and nothing happened ...Took the sender to the room where the Receiver unit was, placed it about four feet away from the Receiver unit and tried changing channels in the same room ...after many, many and I mean many tries (about one hour time), I was able to change one channel ...then nothing more .. I tried attaching the enclosed eye to the infra-red eye of the box ..but that did not improve anything!
My opinion and rating: It is a complete waste of money and time to buy this product. There is no way I would recommend anyone to buy it.

Review: Don't know why this product only has a two star rating. It has worked great for me. I've got a satelite with TiVO and have piped the output to both the upstairs and downstairs in my house. I have used this device to control the TiVO from both extremes with no problems. I can't say as I've separated them by two floors. . .. but anyway. . the thing works for me.
Don't be afraid to buy it and try it. Also . . I was impressed with how far away the emmitter could be from the components you are trying to control. I'd say I've got it a good 14 feet away and it works great.

Review: I bought these to use with my digital camera that has an infrared remote. At night (less obtrusive radio waves), line of site with no obstructions the unit barely worked at 53 feet. When I closed the screen door, or the glass arcadia door in between the units they did not work. I also tried seperating the units with one wall, about 25 feet between the transmitter and receiver. It failed that test also. If they rated these at 50 feet with no obstructions I would give them a good rating, but 100 feet? I think someone is blowing smoke.

Review: I have this system set up to control my TIVO for viewing in the bedroom. It has about 3 feet and one wall between them, and it works about 10% of the time. I would not recommend this product.

Summary: EXTREMELY Disappointing
Review: I tried this at home with my DirectTV box in my bedroom and the TV with the Remote extender in my Living Room. The remote had to go thru just2 walls at less than 20ft. away and could not do it. It was a total waste of money.

Summary: Just Terrible
Review: Just terrible. It's like trying to get two Panda bears in captivity to mate. If the planets aren't aligned properly, the temperature is too high , or if the Gods are angry it won't work. I did get it to work a couple of times by standing on one foot while rubbing my stomach. It's actually easier and quicker to run back and forth to change your settings. Good Luck!
