Summary: This Remote does it all
Review: Was able to program just about anything and everything with this remote. It was unable to recognize my Sony Home Theatre, but i was able to teach the remote codes off the Sony remote. So with a little work around I can control the volume of the Sony receiver from any function.
The remote itself is very light and has a ton of buttons. I highly recommend this remote because there is pretty much nothing it can't control.

Summary: No volume control problems for us
Review: We recently got a Directv Tivo unit and wanted to have a Tivo compatible remote for both of us for all our stuff. The PMDVR8 is a good unit. It controls our DVD player, VCR, Directv - Tivo box and our Magnavox/Philips TV without a hitch.

We don't have a volume control problem with the TV with this unit. We did have a problem with the original Tivo remote but then tried a different TV code number and that fixed that problem.

The device / code number list included with this unit is impressive and all our devices programmed in without having to resort to "learning" anything.

We will be buying another one, for a spare, in case the dogs mess one of them up.
