Rating: Summary: Good Reference addition Review: Finally, a book full of useful and 'real' life examples. This book provides clear usage of the many verbs listed using an assortment of tenses and conjugations. Don't expect this book to teach you how to conjugate verbs like the `501 verbs' book but, it will show you how to use those 501 verbs under a variety of contexts.
I wouldn't recommend this book to a novice since the book seems to assume that you have knowledge of most of the tenses. In fact, I'd probably find the book a little confusing/frustrating if I were at the "Italian 101" level. But for intermediate students, especially those whom are writing essays, I think the book is a good addition to their Italian library references.

Rating: Summary: Best as a supplement only Review: For most beginners and intermediate students, I would say stick with 501 Italian Verbs--it is absolutely indispensable as a reference as you progress in learning grammar. 750 Verbs is best for upper intermediate and advanced students who already have a very solid foundation in conjugating verbs in the many different tenses, and are now looking for more choices in expressing thoughts or specifically adding to their verb vocabulary. As other reviewers have noted, be aware that this book does not help whatsoever in showing you HOW to conjugate verbs--you'll have to get that elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointing Review: I also own the 501 verbs book and this book is so much like that one but more in depth since it not only presents the verbs and their conjugations but some useful expressions and phrases along with verb usages. I reccomend this book for students, teachers, professionals and even those just learning or want to brush up on grammar skills.
Rating: Summary: This book is not what I thought it was Review: Now that I've been using this reference, I can't imagine being without it! This book provides information that just isn't available from even a combination of a good Italian-English dictionary and the popular 501 Italian Verb reference. I am seriously studying Italian and use a combination of the three references. The 501 Italian Verbs reference book gives what I consider extremely limited coverage of verb meaning within context. This is precisely what you get with the 750 Italian Verbs reference. While 501 Italian Verbs is indispensible for conjugating verbs (this aspect is not really a part of 750 Italian Verbs), the 750 Italian Verbs reference tells the rest of the story. In 501 Italian Verbs, a certain verb might be presented with one definition in English, while 750 Italian Verbs might provide numerous usages, with a page of sentences neatly organized to illustrate the context for each. This book has saved me, on a regular basis, from incorrect verb choice or sentence structure,. The numerous example sentences, provided for every verb, offer a great resource. Every time I look up one thing, I learn much more just reviewing the section for that verb. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in an easy to use and very effective reference for verb usage. Before now, I've never written an Amazon review, but feel strongly about the value of this book and want to get the word out there to help others studying Italian.
Rating: Summary: Best as a supplement only Review: When I picked up this book, I had no idea that it would exceed my expectations. The book takes verbs and explains the how to use them in depth so that one really knows Italian. I have used it with my courses and find that students really understand in native speakers usage of the verb. I don't think this a book for people who want to use as a cheat cheat to write verbs as it isn't a conjugation book so much as a complete verb book. I am extremely impressed with this book and recommend it for those who seriously want to learn Italian!
