Summary: dont waste your money
Review: Here is a tip from a heavy truck mechanic, with over 20 years in the biz.Don't waste your money on any of these chilton or haynes manuals. They are so general and light on any of the complex problems people are trying to repair ,you might as well not even bother to open it.If you have a vehicle that you are be going to keep and maintain ,go to what ever dealers service dept for your vehicle and get the real factory manuals. You will have to drop close to a hundred bucks or maybe a little more ,but as soon as you open them you will see it was worth the money you spent.Another alternative is to use one of the online services out there that carry evrey car ever mades service mauals ,and updates online, that is the way to go.but forget these bone headed chilton and haynes manuals that only cover the most basic and and simple problem solving info, most of which can be thought out with a little common sence. The bigest joke is the chapter , chapter thats funny on rebuilding the trucks engine.Hey I don't know about you but most of us don't have a machine shop in are basments.Get with the real world chilton and haynes, there is such a thing as rebuilt engines today that are cheaper then ever and carry monster warantys.both from private rebuilders and direct from the big 3 for prices that were unheard of a few years ago.Trying to cram 6 diffrent model types and 15 diffrent model years into a 220 page book is hysterical.Check out the little foot notes through out the whole book "photo may not be for your model just a general view".Hey thats going to fill you with joy and confidence as you have your transfer case ripped apart on the floor.Or there lame wiring diagrams, once again read the fine print "your vehicles may look diffrent" yeah big help.I can't tell you how may rigs have come into are shop in pieces with one of these grease soaked printed rag books in the back seat.
