Rating: Summary: Nice introduction to Chinese Charcters but NOT a Calendar Review: First of all this item is not a Calendar. While the pages are listed as "Day 1, Day 2, ..." and etc. there are no dates. However, it does have a good selection of words appropriate for the beginning Chinese student. However there is no indication of stroke orders, which is limits this product's use. In the end you're probably better off buying a real character book and doing the "one a day" on your own.
Rating: Summary: Better than you think Review: This is not a calendar going by month and day, but lists the day of the year as a number (1-365). Notice on the package it IS listed as a "Practice Pad" and not as a calendar at all. I'd like to give it 4.5 stars, if I could; I only wish it came with a stand. I found the characters helpful. The stroke order is given, along with three chances to trace the character and 25 more chances to write it yourself without the tracing. It gives the simplified form of the character, but also the traditional form, if available. The box contains a "handout" with pronounciation helps. I have this calendar at work, and I work on the "charcater of the day" before checking my email! 8-)
