Review: Whew! Dense, fast and furious and full of many perspectives, this book is well worth the read for those who want a comprehensive review of the demise of the Yugoslav state. There are parts of the book that read like a good spy mystery, and parts that are dreadfully dull. But, overall, I haven't seen a better source of background to the crisis in the Balkans. It is only a start and a whirlwind tour. Nonetheless, this is the best available overview of this complex situation. Just don't stop here. And, any good overview does exactly what this book does, makes you want to know more.
