Rating: Summary: AWESOME!!! Review: As a Black American male all I can say is AWESOME! Great job Wayne!
Rating: Summary: AWESOME!!! Review: Finally, Wayne Parryman has come along and written a masterpiece of a book for Black people to learn from. With electoral politics becoming more important in the lives of Black people, they can no longer afford to vote blindly and out of ignorance. This type of voting has resulted in a form of self genocide that has left Blacks the victims of every type of social problem imaginable. Not only are the prisons overflowing with Blacks, but the urban public schools no longer educate our children, but yet Blacks vote, blindly but they vote. I recommend Unfounded Loyalty to be read by every Black person in America and become manditory reading like the Bible is for Christians. Since Blacks are not going to leave America, they had better learn the game America plays by. In this respect ignorance of the game is dangerous to our health, reading Perryman's Unfounded Loyalty goes a long way in preparing Blacks to play the game to win. Perryman's book therefore, if read will do for Blacks what the Bible is suppose to do for Christians. I recommended this book to become a must reading wherever Blacks are gathered, and particularily within the churches.
Rating: Summary: Don't let the truth scare you! Review: In my opinion (Unfounded Loyality)has shed a vail of misinformation that has been historically passed on from generation to generation by African-Americans. This book uncovered the distastfully truth about the Democratic party, and their role in the enslavement of African Americans. This book opened my eyes, and enpowered me to make informed decisions about my vote and who I'm voting for. As Black male I have always voted on the Democratic ticket, but after reading Mr. Perryman's book that decision maybe harder to make the next time around. Well done Mr.Perryman. I know from experience that it is often difficult to take on a subject that is not popular. However, this book isn't about being popular, it's about setting the record straight. I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in the truth.
Rating: Summary: Very Informative Review: This book is excellent, excellent, excellent. Such a good read for everyone. I honestly could not put this book down. So informative. I learned so much from this. I didn't realize how much I was led to believe certain things that just weren't true at all. I plan on buying his other book "The 1993 Trial on the Curse of Ham". If it is 1/2 as good as this one I will be worthless until I finish it.
Rating: Summary: Most profound book I've read this year. Review: This is a profound book, by Rev. Wayne Perryman. Rev. Perryman is black, religious and makes his living as an investigator in discrimination cases. He researched the period of 1832 to 2002 to answer a question posed to him by some black inner-city young people; "Why are most blacks in America Democrats?"
Among his findings:
- The Democrat Party was solidly pro-slavery prior to the Civil War, seeking to expand slavery to all of the States.
- The Republican Party was founded just prior to the Civil War and was anti-slavery.
- President Lincoln was the first Republican president. President Lincoln changed Vice Presidents for his second term, selecting Andrew Johnson, a pro-slavery Democrat, to broaden his base and appeal to borderline Democrats.
- After the end of the Civil War, Southern Democrats passed Black Codes in the South to suppress, restrict and deny blacks the same privileges that were available to whites.
- Republicans enacted the Freedman Bureau to assist the newly freed slaves.
- Upon being sworn in to replace the assassinated Lincoln, President Johnson stated: "This is a country for white men and long as I am president it will be a government for white men."
- The Ku Klux Klan was formed as the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party.
- Initially in the South after the Civil War, many blacks were Republicans, including many elected officials. The only black US Senator from the South was a Republican until Barbara Jordan, a Democrat, was elected from Texas in 1972.
- Federal troops were stationed in the South to protect blacks until removed by President Hayes in 1877, but they did not prevail against the terrorist acts of the Klan, which continued to intimidate blacks, causing many to not vote or to vote Democrat.
- The terror situation prevailed until well after 1900. In 1900, three white persons founded the NAACP to publicize and stop the lynchings. There were 94 known lynchings in 1900.
- Rich Republican whites funded and supported many of the black colleges, including Morehouse where Martin Luther King Jr. studied. Many southern Democrats opposed the colleges and tried to diminish their effectiveness.
- The many Civil Rights Acts of the 1960's and 70's were supported by more Republicans than Democrats, and in many cases passed over the objections of Southern Democrats.
A thread throughout the book is that in turning to the government for support rather than the traditional black church, the black community has lost a lot of its resiliency.
Finally, the author claims that the Democratic Party has never officially apologized for slavery or their terrorist war against black Americans.
The book is footnoted and provides many tables of relevant information.
Rating: Summary: Informative but..... Review: This is a well-written, excellently researched book on the relationship between the Democratic Party and black people in this country. It is still somewhat surprising to realize that as short time ago as 1960, Richard Nixon outpoled JFK in support of black voters. Perhaps the biggest complaint heard is that political parties take their core voters for granted. Both parties do this and it is not at all clear which is more crass in their arrogance. Every four years we hear stern warnings from black "leaders" that the Democratic Party cannot take their vote for granted. And every four years, the party nominates two white guys who make the patronizing church circuit - having ignored those same churches for four years - to deliver verbal abuse on the mean old GOP who is somehow against them. Predictably on Election Day, a 90% vote is given the party that snubbed them for four years. Likewise, the GOP takes a message of fiscal responsibility to their core supporters. After four years of running up enormous debts, they promise change and warn about the spending habits of Democrats. Naturally, once they are in power, spending takes off with a vengeance - even the rate of spending increases - and they then have the gall to run four years later on a platform of "lowering government spending." The first situation, though, is more tragic with all the dashed hopes, lost dreams, lack of effectual power and the requisite demagoguery that has effectively enslaved one race to one party regardless of consequences. The whole idea of community leaders telling people of their race to vote a certain way BECAUSE of their race is depressingly familiar and would be in court if not for the similar political leanings of the ACLU. Change does not appear emminent due to the status quo we have all accepted. While enlightening, this book is also depressing.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: Wayne Perryman has written a great book full of facts not fiction. It has been done in a very scholarly manner and would make a great text book for a black history class. He looks at history through non-prejudiced eyes. This book is a must read for ALL AMERICANS. If you are honest and desire to know the truth you will find it in this book. Wayne looks back at what has happened for several decades to show the negative impact of the democratic party on the black people in our country. The freedom they have long sought for and think they have is not always what it seems to be. Wayne does not hold any punches, but in a very fair alalytical way tells the truth. I hope many are set free by reading this truth. I believe this is a must read.
