Rating: Summary: just the facts ma'am... Review:
This book is a great read, and puts the Bush presidency under the microscope.
Just the facts ma'am. You can't argue with them, you can only choose to remain willfully ignorant or you can put your country first and do the right thing: Vote Bush out.
This election is a referendum on Bush, period.
This book highlights the top ten reasons why Bush is a failure, although Bill Press could make a top 30 list and still have room for a nice epilouge.
Rating: Summary: Without a doubt the most dangerous administration ever! Review: This book by Bill Press was a major eye-opener into the criminal tactics that have been pulled off by the Bush administration in the nearly four years after being selected by the Supreme Court in November of 2000.
The things I've read in this book really shocked me immensely especailly with the Patriot Act (George Orwell is rolling in his grave or crying in his current lifetime) and what it's really about, the crony capitalism that is rampant in our country, the assault that has been waged against the environment, but on top of it all, the despicable act of going to war in Iraq based on a pack of lies.
I never knew that in fact Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden actually hated each other immensely but this book tells the facts that completely destroy the rationale of Iraq being connected to the events of September 11.
It also gives background into some of the top officials in office right now which are absolutely alarming and sickening.
Even when we vote them out of office, this book should still be read as a reminder of just what the results may be when we let crooks sneak their way into power and doing nothing about it.
I ask everyone from all over the political spectrum to go and buy this book today. You couldn't get a better fact-finder than this.
Rating: Summary: Swing voters should read this book! An illuminating read! Review: Bill Press brilliantly allows George W. to make the best case against himself. The few critical reviews below do not accurately portray the organization and basis for this book. The real "rantings" are of Bush and his administration who themselves lay out the most convincing evidence for the "Top Ten Reasons Why Bush Doesn't Deserve A Second Term." Unending quotes, citations, and promises made by Bush give the most accurate portrayal and representation to any American as to why one should not vote for the man. The endless citations are tirelessly tied together to unveil Bush as a man of deception and self-interest. There can be no other conclusion!
It's important that an analyst take the subject's own quotes and use this direct and incontrovertible evidence to prove their assertions about the subject's credibility, reliability, and truthfulness. This lends complete credence to the author's assertions. Bill Press wisely lets Bush, et al., do the convincing, which is more than enough to make the case to any reasonable person that "Bush Must Go."
Here's one of my own examples of Bush's evil deceit not contained in Press's book. We all cannot forget how the Bush administration stonewalled for Condoleeza Rice to testify before the 9/11 commission. When he finally caved in to political pressure, Bush had the audacity and immorality to state that Rice would testify because we owed it to those who died on 9/11. Yes, I heard it myself while driving home from work and was shocked that he would use the deaths of 3000 people as an excuse at the last minute. It goes along with Press's observation that the first Republican convention to be held in New York City this year was no accident. And the fact that the convention was also delayed by a week to come closer to 9/11 shows that Bush, indeed, has attempted to profit politically by the deaths of 9/11 victims just as his first campaign advertisement had. Bush has also made himself unaccountable by blaming everything on 9/11 (i.e., jobs, the economy, and Iraq).
All in all, a diligently researched book, with citations, dates, sources, and et.al, all referenced for your further investigative/confirmation inclinations. If you are on the fence, read this; it should definitely convince you that Bush doesn't deserve a second term.
Rating: Summary: Rantings of a Demented Partisan Review: Bill Press is a failed TV commentator who is full of bitterness against Bush. His book reflects his inability to express a rational thought without losing his (little) mind.
Rating: Summary: A response to twinndraggons review. Review: Bush stated recently it mattered not what information he had at hand or whether it was erroneous or not. He's now saying he would have gone to war in Iraq anyway. So good intellignece info or not he was determined to go to war, period. Not to mention the fact that he has changed his justification for going to war at least four times that I can remember. The Republican party had Hussein targeted for a hit long before 9-11. Revisit the 2000 Republican campaign ads where they state clearly that the US should not have to buy oil from a dictator like Hussein. 9-11 was merely their opportunity to go in. Ossama Bin Laden may have masterminded the 9-11 attacks but Bi Laden doesn't directly control oil fields does he? Bush has also said there will be an oversight contingent staying in Iraq after the Iraqi's take control to assure the continued oil production. If it's not about oil and it's not about WMD's then the reason has to be to make up for his daddy's mishandling of Desert Storm when George Herbert Walker let Hussein off the hook much to the dismay of Marines in Iraq at the time. Just how many more lives have to be needlessly sacrificed for the egos of the Bushes?
Rating: Summary: Bush is the worst President ever!!! Review: George W. Bush is shown by Bill Press to be the worst President this country has ever had and should be voted out of office this November with not a second thought. Bill Press outlines all of his reasons in his book but certainly Bush/Cheney getting us into this fiasco in Iraq should be reason enough. How many lives were premenantly altered by this war that was fought for reasons that were proven false. There were no weapons of mass destruction. Iraq wasn't involved with Bin Laden. Yet, aside from Michael Moore and publications like Mother Jones, the sleepy press sits by and gives Bush/Cheney pass after pass after pass. In the end, as Bill Press has so well articulated in his book this election is amounting to one of the most significant ones in the history of our country. As Bill has noted, we cannot afford more of Bush and he must be voted out of office for our country cannot endure anymore leadership of these right wing ideologues.
Rating: Summary: Bill Press is One Very Funny (and DUMB) Guy Review: I just received an e-mail from Mr. Press simply stating:
"you support the draft dodger. I'll support the "decorated war hero"...
The "draft dodger" Mr. Press must be referring to is Bill Clinton. The "decorated war hero" that I am so glad he is supporting must be Colonel Oliver North. Or maybe John O'Neill.
I rest my case. Press is as clueless as he was when he was a political commentator in Los Angeles. This book is not worth a continental.
Rating: Summary: This is the book I needed! Review: If you are looking for a clear, concise, no-nonsense book that explains why Bush is a terrible president with FACTS, not opinion, this is THE ONE to get! While all of Press's points are great, I really appreciate the chapter on Bush's budget deficit the most. Press gives me the numbers I need (and have now memorized) to tell others just how fiscally irresponsible Bush has been - how in four years he has managed to go from being handed a *surplus* of more than a $100 billion dollars from the Clinton administration to a projected 2005 deficit of $520 billion!! And NO, critics, it's not because of the war, and Press explains that in a very straight forward way, as well. This book should be required reading for all registered voters.
Rating: Summary: If you only read one book before the 2004 election . . . Review: If you only read one book before the 2004 election, make it BUSH MUST GO: THE TOP TEN REASONS WHY GEORGE BUSH DOESN'T DESERVE A SECOND TERM by Bill Press. In the past year or so Richard Clarke, Paul O'Neill, Bob Woodward and many other Washington D.C. insiders and journalists have published books telling the truth about the George W. Bush administration. BUST MUST GO offers a concise summary of what the public needs to understand. If you don't believe what author Press says in BUSH MUST GO, examine the record yourself and share your findings here. Just please don't write a review complaining about Bill Clinton. I understand that there are many people who still support the man elected president in 2000. Unfortunately for them, Al Gore isn't running this year. Read BUSH MUST GO. Then vote on November 2, 2004.
