Summary: The user friendly guide to enlarging your psychic skills
Review: As a practicing psychotherapist, organizational development consultant and faculty member of the famed Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, I'll always be a lifelong student of human behavior and our collective possibilities. I've recommended B.Naparstek's guided imagery tapes to clients for the last five years. Always with great success. Her previous book, "Staying well with guided imagery" was a great addition to the well thumbed books I'll referr to for life. Her latest book, "Your sixth sense", is the tour de force that no, not even anyone baby psychic skills could have predicted. The reasons "Your sense sixth" is such a major contribution to all the social sciences is because of its profound grasp of complex human phenomena that is simply explained. Naparstek allows anyone who reads this work TO OWN their psychic ability through "ah ha", I've been there re-experiencing AS THEY READ her work and she gives wonderfully clear suggestions about HOW anyone can enlarge their psychic knowing. For years, practitioners have been referencing the phenomena of energy and human energy field, Naparstek easily guides us through complex reviews to help literally wrap our minds around the physics of what energy is about and how we can have more of it. Frankly, I hope this text becomes the forever classic it so richly deserves to be. "Your sixth sense" is the most grounded approach to what has typically been the stuff delegated to metaphysics and practitioners of esoteric wisdom. Here finally, we can all get on the same wave of ancient thinking, honed with cutting edge insights and delivered in a manner that empowers any reader to enlarge their vocabulary of action for the complexities of everyday life. "Your sixth sense" is not only a guide to heightening the power of your psychic abilities, it's also acts as a guide how to live more fully, more vibrantly with clearer channels open to get from others what we need for life. Practices outlined by Naparstek may be helpful in staying well, enriching our relational posssibilities with others and "sparking-up" one's own charisma! I just love this book and am recommending it to all my clients, friends and colleagues. It's wise to share such a treasure with the rest of the world. Thanks for reading this. You'll really thank yourself when you actually get this. Oh, if you're just toooo busy for the book. Get the audio version of the "Sixth sense". She does a guided imagery piece that takes you to realms typically activated in true rem states. What's even better is that she takes your there with her own voice. Hollywood actors themselves couldn't improve on her. She and her work are the real thing.

Summary: How Did I Know This Would Be Such a Great Book?
Review: As an Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Coach, I teach people to develop their emotional intelligence competencies, one of which is Intuition. As Naparstek is so quick to point out -- we all have it, it's just a matter of developing it and using. Now, the clients with relatively high Intuition already, know "intuitively" what it's all about. But those other folks?? They're the ones who need a good scientific explanation (empirical evidence, upon which my coaching is based) to help them bridge the gap. In a field such as coaching, empirical evidence (scientific fact) is rare. This gave me just what i needed, has helped me develop my own Intuition and stay safer. Read it and get to work!

Summary: Intelligent thoughtful writing
Review: At the advice of a friend I bought this book. I found it to be not only informative and thought provoking, but educational as well. Having a well honed "BS monitor", normally I would have read the first chapter or so of a 'self-help' book and put it aside. This book however caught and held my attention with Ms. Naparstek's fine writing style. She keeps it interesting and makes one want to turn to the next page. I would recommend anyone seeking the development of thier natural gifts to purchase this book. The work not only educates the seeker, but the exercises also bring more than simply a sharpened 6th sense. They bring with them a sense of well being within.
Fantastic work. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Review: Belleruth Naparstek does a wonderful job of helping you waken your psychic abilities...this is one of the BEST! Her lovely voice is very relaxing to listen to. Not all readers sound this relaxed. Many readers talk fast and make it a distraction from relaxation and getting into a trance. Ms Naparstek sounds pleasant and reassuring. It's easy to relax and let your mind just concentrate. Tape two is fantastic...>This book is "THE" book to buy...

Summary: Nice meaning behind the information but.......
Review: But, what I did not like so much about the book, was that it was too wordy like a previous reviewer mentioned, and that I personally feel that Belleruth kept repeating herself over, and over, and over again.... After a while, it really got to be sorta over worded, too much repeating.... I think she had great ideas, and the meaning of the open heart etc was Great! I would give the book alltogether 3 stars, but I would Give the inductions/excercises in the book 5 stars! The inductions/excercises were terrific, very heart opening, but too much of the same info was being repeated unfortunetly.

Review: Each week on a spiritual live radio show, I review a book that will assist you as you open your senses and thoughts to universal energy. So I get to read for my job! How blessed.
I look for practical and understandable books that will explain in detail for the beginner, and continue knowledge and share new techniques of learning for the old hand. YOUR SIXTH SENSE is probably one of the BEST books I could recommend to someone that believes they "may" have enhanced intuitive skills.

Belleruth interviewed 40 ethical, practicing psychics and healers. She shares the common denominators that she found within this select group. Such as a high percentage of the sensitives were only children. A high ratio had suffered through either abuse of some form or extreme trauma before they noticed that they were receiving psychic information.
The book goes on to speak on how you can continue to engage in meditation, how to trust your intuition, she describes some of the terms you may hear as you venture into learning more about the use of psi, and my favorite part, she gives some terrific guidelines on spiritual and psychic ethics. Being psychic carries a huge responsibilty. I mean what do you do when you are chatting with someone, and all of a sudden you feel, hear, or see information (be it good or bad) on the person with whom you are chatting? Is it an intrusion to give information when it has not been asked for?
Read the book and see what Belleruth has to say.
I loved it.

Summary: An articulate and logical view of ESP...worth the read!
Review: For those who have slightly more than a passive interest in the dynamics of "psi" and crave more of a quasi-scientific foundation before contemplating some of the more esoteric properties of psi phenomenon, get the book and jump to Chapter Five: "Explaining It...The Physics of ESP, Love and Imagery." This to me, was the core of the book and lent a more "realistic" understanding, based in part on Theoretical Physicist, David Bohm's paradigm of the nature of reality and the universe. Don't get me wrong, not all of the book threatens to be as potentially daunting and "scientific." Much of what Ms. Naparstek writes has an affable flavor, but I believe that the chapter mentioned above should have been chapter one of the book, for it would nicely set the stage for what else is to come in the book. At any rate, get the book. Read it, then read it again...mark it up...take notes...and use it as a reference for future study - it has great resources for those who wish to expand their understanding of "Who we really are and the Universe."

Summary: Wow!
Review: Ms. Naparstek's new book is amazing. She shows us a whole new way to view the solid, material world that is incredibly liberating and intellectually interesting as well. (And she doesn't sound like she's writing a technical manual either, even when she's getting reeeeally technical, which isn't often anyway.) Her theories on intuition and "psychic" phenomena are incredibly un-"new-agey" and backed up with her own experience and a full set of credentials. Best of all, once she's finishing explaining it, she shows you how to enhance your own psychic awareness in simple ways you probably never thought about. No matter how skeptical you are (I am!), this book is definitely worth your time.

Summary: Practical Tools for Self Exploration
Review: The "New Yorker" magazine does a profile of Jim Carrey this week (12/15/01). In it, the writer mentions that he's reading this book. That's kind of cool, right?
