Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An excellent read-aloud resource for new readers.
Review: My 7 year old son loves for us to share in the reading of the occassional play that we come across. We had looked and looked for a book of plays and when I found this, I thought, "What the heck? I'll try it." My son ran through the house shreiking with joy when he opened the package and we ended up staying up 'til 2am reading them all over and over and over. The plays average two or three pages and are in big type with nifty pictures that are not intimidating. Some are of 2 characters and some are for many--not all are specifically sexed-so any reader can fill a part in a group. With my son, he takes all "boy" parts and I get the rest. If there is no designation to sex, we divide it right down the middle. It has been pure joy to hear my son expressing his reading skills with this book. For a new and/or timid reader, this could be just right. (BTW--My son is neither, he just loves plays--if your child does too, this is perfect.)
