Rating: Summary: ... review for the book" Barefoot Heart" Review: Barefoot Heart was written by Elva Trevino Hart. This book tells us some stories about a migrant child and how her grew up in America. The story started when Elva was three-year-old. In 1953, her family started to move to Minnesota and work in the fields. After that, their life were just move from this place to another place and working in the fields all the time. Elva was the youngest child in her family, and she also was the luckiest one. She had good education and she found a good job. But she still would like to go back the life she use to have. I think this is a great book. In the book, we can see how lovely the family was, especially the love between Elva and her father. That really makes me tearful. I learned a lot of things about Mexican Americans, how their life are. From the book, I also learned how and why should I love my parents, and remind myself what they have done for me. These are what I would like to share with everybody.
Rating: Summary: LOOKING IN A MIRROR! Review: I ALWAYS THOUGHT HOW UNLUCKY I WAS TO GROW UP WITH A FAMILY THAT HAD TO MOVE AROUND EVERY SEASON TO PICK FRUIT. TODAY I REALIZE HOW LUCKY I HAVE BEEN TO HAVE LIVED THROUGH THAT. I SEE MYSELF AND MY FAMILY IN THIS BOOK AND I REALLY CONNECTED WITH ELVA AND HER FAMILY. ITS A GREAT BOOK AND I HAVE PURCHASED SEVERAL TO GIVE AS GIFTS AND EVERYONE HAS RAVED. I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE.

Rating: Summary: girl age of 15 Review: I thought this book was very interesting and how iut told about the past and and how families earned a living. And how children had fun when they didn't have things that children today have.
Rating: Summary: elva's barefoot heart Review: i was amazed. i cried. it is so sad. i believe that we all kids should read this book. it gives us ideas about how different lives people have. the book, batefoot heart shows how rough migrant life Elva and her family had. while her family moved back and forth to the minesota and wisconsin beat fields, her family never had nice house and enough food. novertheless, her family never gave up their future and dream. elva studied hard and got her dream came ture. she successfuly graduated form Standford university and got a job in IBM. however, she realized that she has an empty heart. later on, i tried to find her traces, her migrant childhood and she found her barefoot heart.
Rating: Summary: the storyteller Review: It was an assignment for school to read an excerpt from this book. I read the first couple pages and now am eager to read the rest of Mrs. Hart's book. I've never worked in a field, let alone had to travel with the seasons to do so. This has given me a better understanding of the life of a migrant worker.
