Summary: wonderful, wonderful book
Review: This is an amazing book. It changed my outlook on life. The first time I read it, I did it in a day. Since then, I've refered back to it many times. The stories are very well written. This is not only a must for martial arts enthusiasts. The lessons learned in this book can be applied to everyday life. This book is a must.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A re-readable reference book for keeping you on track.
Review: You'll read each 2-3 page parable every few weeks, and get something out of it each time. My copy has been on loan to me since 1991, and despite almost knowing by heart, I refer to it often. I really should buy my brother another one. For friends who seek my guidance in persuing a balanced lifestyle, I am about to buy 10, so I may hand them out. They'll be the greatest gift for anyone seeking a healthy perspective on life - martial artist or not.

Summary: Perfect for the martial artist or just your average "Joe".
Review: This is the perfect book to carry around with you whenever you have the chance to read it.

It is a relatively small book, with enlightening short stories that teach their own important life lessons. I found it to be invaluable to my own personal development as a martial artist and as a person. And for the price, it is definitely worth buying! You will get way more than its worth.

Summary: A must read for the martial arts enthusiast
Review: This book put in lay mans terms the true value of practicing, living and studying the amrtial arts. Do not lend this book to anyone, even your closest friends. You will not get it back. I know, I lent it to a close friend and never saw it again.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Read and forever be enlightned
Review: I do not practise any form of martial arts yet the clarity of the explanations of zen in this book has forever enlightened my way of life, and I will read it again and again.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book stands on its own.
Review: No deities arise in this writing to break the spell. Neither must it qualify its title. This unhurried stream of short stories overflows boundaries between oneself and experience, questioning old resignations and awakening thought. Re-reading it only deepens the effect.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A MUST FOR EVERY STUDENT OF MARTIAL ARTS
Review: A gem of a book - it deals with highly subtle and elusive topics in a simple and forthright manner. Another great thing about this book is its readability; a typical chapter doesn't take more than 10 minutes to read. I always keep it at hand and just open the book, pick a chapter and gain a new insight. This book is a must for you if you want to grasp the subtle principles behind every martial art and apply them to qualitatively improve not just your performance as a martial artist but your daily life.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Perfect book for the Martial Artist
Review: If you are a martial artist (or, even if you're not), read this book. It provides mountains of wisdom, but entirely without pretense. It's easy to read, divided into short anecdotes which can be read in less than five minutes, and always as entertaining as it is informative. This is one which deserves to be in your library.
