Review: This is a very good book to help children who are witnessing violence or for adults who witnessed violence in their childhood. As this book points out, domestic violence between parents is the most threatening and damaging to a child because the child does not feel safe at home anymore. The young child grows up in fear for his or her physical safety because the caretaker is no longer providing protection. Other types of violence that affect children are also treated in this book such as street violence, and TV violence. It's amazing how little work exists dealing with the effect on children of being a witness to violence. This is a ground-breaking work, and I hope that the author extends the book in future editions.
