Summary: Wonderfully whimsical!!
Review: A friend of mine loaned me this book when I was feeling blue. She had received hers as a gift. I enjoyed turning each page as there was something on each with which I could relate. I quickly wnet out and bought my own copy. There are some very quirky items and some which cause you to grin in spite of yourself. It is a great thing to keep on the night stand; I look at mine every so often before bed, especially if I am exhausted. It seldom fails to perk me up and cause me to smile!!

Summary: Not Much of a Book
Review: An indiscriminate list - no other word adequately describes the mind-numbing sensation of reading several thousand objects - not so much of objects that make one happy but perplexed. To my astonishment, I discovered in this 'book' such amusing little things as 'atrocious prices' and 'special introductory courses' which I have always thought of as in fact irritating.

I came out of the first hundred pages - I could not force myself further, I confess - all but retching. I find it difficult not to loathe this 'Barbara Ann Kipfer.'

Avoid this book.

Summary: Sorry 'bout this but . . .
Review: Don't know why I bought this book - must have been depressed or something - and I definitely was after I discovered what I'd spent my money on. Save your money and make up your own list. Think you need to be American to understand it.

Summary: I give these as gifts
Review: I am a high school counselor and picked up this book at a workshop. It is not keenly witty or deep, but I have found that if I keep a copy on my desk, the kids pick it up and thumb through the pages. More often than not, they will find something to make them smile. It is a great conversation starter or a wonderful way to forget a problem. I give many of these little books away as graduation, off to college, going overseas, or hospitalization gifts.

Summary: I LOVE this book.
Review: I bought this book a few years ago on a whim. I really have enjoyed going through it numerous times. One of the things I have done as I have been reading it is I highlight the ones that make me happy. That way if I am having a bad day I can pick up the book and at a glance find something that can make me feel better or remind me to do something to make me feel better. I really enjoy this book.

Summary: Not Much of a Book
Review: I bought this book and never looked at it, until one day at work I was reminded of it. I brought it to work and read a page a day to a coworker with whom I shared an office. It made us ponder each word and most importantly, laugh. It made us forget about our everyday things and sometimes chilly coworkers!
I am sending this to my former coworker for memories, laughs and good times even though we are miles apart now. Everyone should have a copy of this book at work!

Summary: This book gives me 14,001 things to be happy about.
Review: I found this book at the library in early 1994 and was so enchanted by it I told the library I lost it and was going to pay for it. Instead I had our local bookshop order it for me and returned the much thumbed taxpayer's copy to the library. I love books - all kinds of books - but this is my all time favorite. It is DELIGHTFUL!! I have read it cover to cover at least 6-7 times and made many, many, more random readings. Each time I read it I highlight new passages (by now more than half the book is highlighted). I read it when I'm feeling lost and abandoned, when I'm feeling nostalgic, when I'm looking for ideas for dinner, and even when I'm already happy - this book NEVER lets me down! I also have read "The Wish List", by the same author, but I'd love another 14,000 things to be happy about - heck, it doesn't even have to be 14,000, I'll settle for 1,000 (put the bug in Barbara Ann Kipfer's ear!).

Summary: Best book of all time!
Review: I love this book. This is something that I think everyone should own and read as often as possible. It is inspirational and fun to read. It will always put a smile on your face. I also recommend this as a gift. Who wouldn't enjoy getting something that makes them happy?
