Workbook for Wheelock's Latin, 3rd Edition, Revised

Review: While Comeau, LaFleur, and HarperCollins emphasize the usefulness of Wheelock's Latin for those learning the language independently, this Workbook does not make it easy for the independent learner. Although the book states that the answer key is available for free not only to educators but to those who verify independent study status, HarperCollins has continually refused my requests, as an independent student of Latin, for the answer key. Therefore, I am left with a book that seems to contain excellent excercises in Latin, but with no way of checking my work. I have had so much trouble obtaining the answer key that I am even considering returning the book. Buyer beware!

Summary: Excellent workbook; answer key IS available
Review: You really get your money's worth with this workbook. There are several pages of much-needed drill and practice to go with each chapter of Wheelock's. And the answer key is available to independent study students. When you call the 800 number, they will give you instructions on how to obtain it (it is now available online). This is an excellent supplement to Wheelock. And make sure to get Dale Grote's study guide for Wheelock's, either the free online version or the better version that you have to buy.
