Summary: Do I like the Books? My cat's name is Aslan!!!!
Review: I grew up hear references to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis and the Chronicles of Narnia. I never knew what it was all about though until my Senior yr of college, when I chose to read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe for a class in Children's Literature. I feel in love with Narnia in a night!!!And though I was taking a full load, I mangaged to read the rest of the Chronicles that same week and have never really stopped since then! Each time I read one the books, I find stunning new details I may have overlooked, wonder at things I didn't realize before, and I piece together a great understanding of our own Narnia that we all live in. For 3 yrs, now I have been collecting sets of the books so that my own children some day can enjoy their own World of Narnia, hopefully at a much younger age than myself. The Narnia Series can be enjoyed at any age with understanding and apperciation growing for them, each time they are read. They are not just for children, nor can only adults understand them. They are for all ages. And invest in an hardcover set with full color pictures to enjoy them even more!!!!!

Summary: One of the literary greats.
Review: When I saw this set I sent it straight to my cart. I've been a bibliophile as long as I can remember and it's thanks to great writing like Lewis. A wonderful mix of fantasy, imagination and morality, this book series has created a standard against which other children's books are set. I'm proud to have this set in my collection, and i'm planning on buying a second to put away for my children so they can discover reading like I did when I was a little girl.

Summary: Only 3 times!...
Review: Everyone should read this series more than 3 times!... I'm reading it for the 24th time (and counting). Everytime I find something new. Each time I read it my favorite book of the series changes. You can't only read it 3 times!... You will just miss too much. Now, I understand that people need to wait a while between each time they read it. Long enough to not remember every single detail. Don't wait well over ten years as suggested in that first review. This is a series for all ages!... Besides the fact that it's just plain GREAT, it can help you grow religiously. I know it has for me. "Could not one thus steal past those watchful dragons," for all those people who know what I mean. You can't read it only 3 times!... It just isn't possible!...

Summary: A Fantastical Children's Adventure
Review: I read the Chronicles of Narnia a little over a year ago and my only regret is having not read them when I was a child. The chronicles take you through the birth and death of a world called Narnia. The book explores it's religous development in a way that children can relate to. The only complaint I have of the book is that I do not feel adults get as much out of reading it as children do. This; however, could be said of all Lewis's books. Lewis was truly a gifted author, he had the ability to see through the eyes of child. While I don't feel adults get the effect that kids do it is, nonetheless, a masterpiece.

Summary: only for young adults? Think again!
Review: I reread the Narnia Heptalogy after a 18 year lull. They still hold the same suspense and excitement as they did when I was a 4th grader. If you're undecided about rereading them--don't think, just pick them up and enjoy every moment of it!

The stories speak for themselves, so I won't comment on their content, but I will mention the box set briefly. The books are nicely crafted and come in a tough cardboard holder. The artwork is amazing; especially the images of Aslan. The books themselves are somewhat small, about 4" wide and about 6.5" tall. This is good because they don't take up a lot of room on the bookshelf.

Strongly recommended. Also, if you liked this story, try Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" Tetralogy (including The Hobbit).

Summary: The best kept Secret......
Review: Narnia...it's the best adventure ever. An adventure in a secret land known only to certain kids. It's the land where hopes come true...where the animals talk...and where the adventure begins. Words are not enough to describe the pleasure and the good feelings you get when you read it. It's like a secret land you don't want anyone else to know about. It's the most treasured secret ever.....

Summary: My 7 Year Old Boy Is Captivated
Review: For about a year I've been reading these to my son, starting with book 1 (The Magician's Nephew). We're just about finished with book 6. He's not a super bookworm, so I never imagined that he would be so motivated to have me read these to him. He is absolutely hooked (even though the language is over his head from time to time)! What a great parent/child experience this has been. Now I'm trying to figure out if there are any similar book series' to start on next.

Summary: On the Full-Color Collector's Edition
Review: If you're looking to buy this series, this is the version to get. The books themselves are beautiful and give you an even greater sense of holding treasure in your hands when you're reading or flipping through the pages to recall glorious Narnia.

Summary: Wonderful precursor to Harry Potter
Review: These books serve as a wonderful precursor to the Harry Potter series. Difficult enough because some of the language is dated that older kids will enjoy reading them on their own, the action is fast-paced enough for younger kids to enjoy, as well. I prefer the Lewis-approved chronological order--there is a continuity to the story line.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: inspirational and magnificent
Review: I loved then as a child and have reread all of them as an adult. Timeless classic for the entire family.

I recall the days PBS aired this wonderful stories.
