Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOKS :) Review: The age on these books says 9-12 but these books are for children 1-100. If you can read you should read these books as many times as possible. When I read them I feel as if I am in the story, usually I think of myself as Lucy. My only complaint is that lewis didn't write more about Narnia and the Pevensies. If you enjoy reading fantasy I strongly recomend the Redwall Series. You'll fall in love with Matthias and the Long Patrol.
Rating: Summary: For action and adventure, the C.O.N won't let you down! Review: The seven books which make up the Chronicles of Narnia (1.Magicians Newphew, 2.Lion Witch & Wardrobe, 3.The Horse and His Boy, 4.Prince Caspian, 5.Voyage of the Dawn Treader, 6.Silver Chair and finally 7.Last Battle) are packed with imagination, action, adventure and suspense. Each book can be read as an individual story, but to truly appreciate the whole picture I would read all seven Chronicles. There are seven children in total who find themselves going to Narnia in very different situations. But in all cases, it is a magical trip. In this series you will witness Narnia and its talking animals being created, fly on a winged horse, see a young boy get "un-dragoned", sail on a ship to far off destinations, and of course ride on the Lion's back. I would recommend these books to any child between the ages of 8 - 101. C.S. Lewis has a wonderful way of capturing the attention of adults even in his children's books. ><> ><> ><>
Rating: Summary: These books Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is a great series for the young and old.Once I picked up the books it was hard to put them down!!These books are a semi-modern classics.I think that the best book that I have read in the series is the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.I like it the best because of it's Mystery and action.I agree with many people that they shoudn't change the series' order. If you you have trouble imagining the books, I recommed watching the video version of the books at your local library.
Rating: Summary: Great Books, Cool Videos! Review: The Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe is my favorite book of them all, I've read all of the books. I first found them at the Ross. But not as books, as videos. In the videos you get to see Aslan and Lucy and Mr.Tummus, But the books have more magic. I now own the Narnia book set I am only 12 but I allready know them all by heart.
Rating: Summary: Judge for yourself Review: Stories are meant to mean different things to different people. The people who loved these stories are definetely in the majority. Personally, I have read the Chronicles of Narnia over and over for the past twenty years. I credit Lewis for my interest in reading. For the people who feel they need to bad-mouth these books, I am sure nobody with any intelligence cares about your opinion. These books allow children and adults to lose themselves in another world. A world where things make sense- good is good- bad is bad- and everything happens for a reason.
Rating: Summary: Lewis takes you through a wardrobe to the land of Narnia Review: In this series you'll travel to Narnia a land ruled by an evil queen who makes it always winter and never Christmas.Together 4 childre must over power this evil queen with the help of Aslan the lion. They will face betrayal and death along the way and will stop at nothing to overthrow her majesty quenn Jadas.
Rating: Summary: Magical, simply magical! Review: This book is beyond words. It is one of the most magical experiences you will ever have with a book. Like another reviewer said, you will want to go to Narnia, see Aslan, live the book. I first read these books as a child, and know my copies are dog eared and tattered, but they are still wonderful. I will read them on into my adulthood and I will pass the down to my children. They are simply wonderful! My score is 100!
Rating: Summary: THESE BOOKS ARE THE BEST! Review: c.s. Lewis writes these books as if he were standing there telling you the whole thing.I liked Aslan and Reepicheep best.I also think that The Last Battle was the best because you see all the old charaters like Bree and Hwin and Fledge and Reepicheep and Aslan.
Rating: Summary: A set of matched gems, still great after 40 years' reading. Review: I've read and relished these marvellous books for about forty years now, and their magic never fades. I read with some amazement the comments about the "reordering" of the series, and am at a loss to understand those who have said the series loses fifty percent of its charm if you begin with The Magician's Nephew. Perhaps my problem is that MN was my introduction to Narnia, but I always begin with it when I re-read the Chronicles. It came as a surprise to me when, as an adult, I found that Lewis had recommended reading the books in the order they were written. To each his own: you could read them backwards and they would still be one of the most fantastic contributions to children's literature ever written.
Rating: Summary: One of (if not the) best books I have ever read!!! Review: I just wish it could go on and on. I could not put it down. I read the whole set in less than a week. The best books I have ever read.
