Summary: Fabulous, Magnificent, THE BEST BOOKS EVER WRITTEN!
Review: Enter the land of Narnia where animals talk, where evil sometimes lurks, where the great lion Aslan appears, and where a different adventure is around every corner. I certainly wish I could this series 42 million stars, but it doesn't go up that high. Lewis certainly does have a talent for making you feel you are really there. When I first read them I noticed the symbolism, what Lewis calls the "hidden story". But even if you read these stories 1,000 times (which doesn't sound like that bad of an idea) and you never notice it is still the most enjoyable series ever written. The whole series, I feel, has made me stronger, in my beliefs, in my spirituality, and in my love for a good book. I suggest to all who have read these to do so immediately. You're long overdue for a wonderful treat!

Summary: His books are extravagant!
Review: C.S. Lewis is an excellent writer. I've read very few of his books but enjoyed every second! His books are based on Christianity of back when Jesus was alive. Aslan takes the place of Jesus, and the White Whitch. I can't tell you too much about these books because I haven't read too many of them, but I can tell you one thing his books are wonderful.

Summary: Actually, I'd give the series 10 stars
Review: Lewis' fantasy land of Narnia is second only to Tolkien's tales of Middle-Earth. I will be soon purchasing a new set for my first son as the set my parents bought me is tattered and falling apart from about 20 readings.

Summary: This is a collection of wonderful books!
Review: All children will enjoy these fantasy adventure stories. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ THEM IN THIS ORDER: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Prince Caspian The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The Silver Chair

The Horse and His Boy

The Magician's Nephew

The Last Battle

If you begin with The Magician's Nephew, you will miss out on all the solutions to formerly unanswered questions which it contains. These are also captivating read alouds for children who don't have the patience to begin reading a chapter book, or for anyone for that matter. Once you read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, you'll be hooked.

Summary: The Best Books Ever Written
Review: These are the best books ever written. You will never get tired of reading and re-reading them. PLEASE NOTE! You REALLY ought to read them in the order in which he wrote them, otherwise, all the inside jokes in The Magician's Nephew will be lost. So here's the REAL order:
1. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
2. Prince Caspian
3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
4. The Silver Chair
5. The Horse and His Boy
6. The Magician's Nephew
7. The Last Battle
However, they're such enchanting books that you could read them backwards and still love them, it just wouldn't be as much fun.

Summary: The Chronicles of Narnia
Review: The Chronicles of Narnia are graet books for children of all ages. If you are looking for a magical kingdom other than DisneyWorld you need to read these books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Read these as a kid, and reread as an adult
Review: My next door neighboor read The Chronicals of Narnia to me as a child, and I loved them. I reread them as an adult to discover the depth of meaning in the story.

Like other readers, I would recommend reading the books in the proper order, not the "new" chronological order. It spoils the hidden meaning! Yes, in the "old" line-up it is confusing, but it is ment to be so. PLEASE, it is worth it, I promise.

The set origonally read to me, Lewis dedicated the series to his niece. He told her that (as a teen ager) she was "too old for fairy tails" and he hoped that one day she would reach the age to be able to read a fantacy again. The books are not for children or adults, the meanings change and are for all ages. If you are young, read them. If you are "grown-up", read them. And if you remember them from childhood, read them again and discover the story you did not remember.

Chronicals of Narnia make my top ten list, both as a child and an adult. True classics, and beautifuly told.

Summary: C.S. Lewis is a master storyteller for both young and old.
Review: Lewis writes an amazing epic of the land called Narnia. The style is simple enough for children who will love the chararacters and the stories told, but the symbolism and meaning is complex enough for readers of all ages to enjoy. Reading these books as a child, I enjoyed the stories told, then after reading Lewis's book, "Mere Christianity" for a college class I decided to revisit this series again. I found the stories even more powerful than I did as a child. A masterfull work by Lewis that reads quickly, but makes you ponder long after the books have been completed. A must read for any child (around 4th or 5th grade I would think). This set would be a great gift for a parent to give. A true classic.
