Rating: Summary: Very unique and exciting! Review: The Chronicles of Narnia are some of the best books I have read for a long time!!! I fell in love with each new character! These books will have you ready for the next, and each chapter is better than the last. These books are good for young and old! I recommend these books to people who have a good imagination!!!!
Rating: Summary: I really loved these books! Review: These are great books if you like fiction, animals adventure, and myths.I read them seven times! They are the best books I have ever read in my life!( And I have read a lot of books!)
Rating: Summary: I loved them! Review: I remember when I first saw this set of books. I was initially intrigued that they came in a box set! I fell in love with Narnia and I read the books over and over. I particularly loved "The Horse and His Boy". I was only remotely aware of the parallels to Christianity at that time. I do know that I refused to read the last book for years! I did not want the stories to end and I suppose that was my way to let the stories continue in my head. I did finally read the last book and I wished that I hadn't. They are one of my best childhood memories!
Rating: Summary: Excellent set which I've read to my children over & over Review: Have been reading this series to my kids for over 10 years. Captivating and exciting. Lends itself to adding voices and making the stories fun to listen to. The messages are subtle, but real. I look forward to reading them again to my children and one day to my grandchildren!
Rating: Summary: Perhaps the best children's books anywhere. Review: I first read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in the 50's, when I was verging on adolescence and the book was still relatively new. I loved it, but then I graduated to more "adult" books and it was not until I was in my late 30's, with children of my own, that I discovered that there were six more books in the series. The magic of these stories is wonderful and powerful and the world of Narnia is enthrallng. When I finished the last book I was so upset that there were no more, that I read them all over again. Parents: read these with your kids!
Rating: Summary: A simply plot interwoven with deep biblical meanings Review: I first read the Chronicles of Narnia when I was in grade school. The plot and the setting held my attention and took my imagnation to the distant lands of Narnia. As I got older and my son developed an interest in the books I reread them because I remember how much I enjoyed them the first time. I was amazed by the messages they taught in an unassuming way but very affective. Interwoven with Aslan are the stories from the Bible. I am very impressed with C.S Lewis' ability to accomplish this. I think this is a must read for anyone regardless if they are religious or not
Rating: Summary: The Chronicles are the best children's books I've ever read! Review: I grew up on these books, and I reread them constantly because I love them so much. In childhood, my favorite was The Magician's Nephew, but I think it's now The Dawn Treader. But it's hard to pick a favorite, they are all so amazing. I would, however, like to say how unhappy I am with the new rearranging of the order of the books. I say leave things according to how C.S. Lewis intended them. Awesome books from an incredible author.
Rating: Summary: These books are (next to the Bible) the best books ever Review: I love these books. They are absolutely fantastic! I can't see how anyone could not read these masterpieces of literature.
Rating: Summary: Escape through the wardrobe Review: I never read the series as a child, but after reading it for the first time a few years ago, I felt as though I'd discovered hidden treasure. Every now and then we need to escape and take a look at life from another view to remind us of what is truly important in our lives - and that God loves us and pursues us. These books, I think, enable you to do just that.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: A captivating story of fantasy and wonder. C.S. shows people how to use thier imagination.
