Summary: Master of religious fantasy
Review: These books are a great addition to any family's collection. Although they are writen towards a younger audience, they are good for readers of any age. C. S. Lewis did a wonderful job shadowing the life of Jesus in these books. I recommend these books to anyone who likes fantasy.

Summary: Truly Magical; Truly Inspiring
Review: C.S. Lewis takes you on a voyage of your soul when you read these books. You become totally immersed as you travel along with Peter, Edmund, Lucy, Susan, and plenty of other unforgettable characters. You forget what is around you, what worries you, and have a fresh, excited feeling when you are done reading. Each book is wonderfully written with elegant storytelling, dynamic characters, and details so real, it isn't hard to imagine you are there at all. Better yet, the whole series of books is constructed so that you can read one book, and still understand references to earlier events in other books. The whole legend really comes together in "The Last Battle", and if you are of a religious type, there are many parallels throughout the series that really make you think. Learn to love these books, at a young age, or old age; it makes no difference. Truly, every time you read one of "The Chronicles of Narnia", you find yourself noticing details you never saw before. But most of all, you really wish that Aslan is in all of us, and that Narnia is real. Who knows? Maybe it is...

Summary: A Classic!
Review: My first encounter with the Narnia chronicles was the animated feature "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" when I was six or seven. Some time after that, I was given the collection which I read avidly over the proceeding years.

In recent months, I have been reading a lot of books which were special to me as a child: "Narnia", "Arabian Nights", and various versions of fairytales and King Arthur. I received the Narnia Chronicles as an introduction to the Folio Society, and have been reading a chronicle a day.

The Narnia chronicles have been a very special part of my life in one way or another over the last 21 years. I have observed that these books are one of those perennial favourites which bridge not only the generations, but also age-groups and interests, and have played an important role in many people's childhood.

Having said that, during the re-readings, I find the 'messianic' aspects of these books quite disturbing: the parallels between the sacrifice of Aslan and the Book of Revelations, the parallels between Aslan and Jesus, and Aslan's 'kingdom' or 'legions' as Jesus' 'warriors'. Though it is worth mentioning that children are probably oblivious to these aspects, and adults have a certain maturity to recognise this as it arises.

Certainly, "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" is the highlight of the Chronicles, but "The Magician's Nephew" and "Prince Caspian" are good as well.

How often did you as a child take a peek into an antique wardrobe in the vain hope of it been a portal to a brilliant, magickal world?

Summary: Once a king or queen of Narnia always a king or queen of Nar
Review: These books were given to me as a gift by my Aunt about 26 years ago. I remember reading them and enjoying them as fairy tales, and only years later realizing there was also an underlying theology tale being told by a great writer. Any way you read them they are a wonderfully entertaining story in a world that you love more than your own: Children, theology students, Fantasy role playing game players, all will like these books.

As a child these books were unparalleled in their creativity and imagination. How C.S. Lewis was able to write so well for children when he had none of his own is astounding.

My only disappointment so many years ago is when I finished the last, and realized there were no more to read.

Summary: A MUST-READ CLASSIC FOR KIDS & ADULTS
Review: This set of seven books can be read on several levels in the different stages of life - as a child appreciating the magic and mystery of the world of Narnia, and as an adult appreciating the rich imagery and symbolism that has made Lewis famous.

Particularly evident in this series is Lewis' Christian heritage, and the allegorical aspects of these books continue to impress multitudes of readers today.

This series of books is unarguably a fantasy classic, and unquestionably deserves a place in the library of both children and adults.

Summary: Excellent for all ages
Review: Well, we started our son on this.....and from time to time still read it to him. I got them for my husband to read to my son when he was less than a year old, and now that he's almost four, he's going to really start to understand the magic, mystic and wonder of the whole collection, and hopefully enjoy it as much as my husband and I enjoy reading it!

Summary: Timeless Classics
Review: You can hardly raise literate children without The Chronicles of Narnia. It would be like growing up and never hearing of the land of Oz. These books are absolutely beautiful. In fact, they're one reason adults need children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews--to give themselves an excuse to read books that are called "children's books." No matter what you're outlook on life is (or your age), you'll love these creative tales of an imaginative land.

Review: Oh the Joy of owning the whole set!I love the books.I bought them , gave them away , bought them , gave them away , and so on for about 5 times! They have actually saved 2 people. When I first read them (at 12) I thought that he was making fun of the bible and God. Now I know he wasn't.I love the books and would gladly give them to anybody (if I really thought they would enjoy them).I bought them ,and the set I bought wasn't avalible here, and I will keep them and pass them down the family.I think they are MUCH better than the Harry Potter books, but, I have not read the Harry Potter books. But I'm sure they are nonetheless. So,if you are not sure about buying this book,I personaly urge you too. Please buy the books.I garuntee you will like them!

Summary: Tales for all ages..
Review: As previously stated, please read the books in the originalpublished order, a more enjoyable experience for sure. Here are mythoughts on this wonderful series.

I had never heard of Narnia till about two years ago. A friend of mine told me about them and for the next two weeks she read "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" to me over the phone. I was twenty-two years old at the time and I couldn't help but be excited when it was time for the next chapter.

I'm two years older now and I own my own set. The Chronicles of Narnia are some of the best books I've ever read. On any level. There's something in Narnia for everyone, from a child to an adult these books can enrich and bring joy to a rather ordinary existence.

This set along with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings sweep me off to magical lands and fantastic adventures. Sometimes it's like I never want to come back....thank you C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.
