Summary: The Best Trail of Facts for 9/11
Review: After spending months reading about radical muslims, I didn't think another book could tell me more. I was wrong. Peter Lance's book "1000 Years For Revenge" is at the top of my list. If you know nothing about the trail of terrorist activity from the '90s to date, this is the book for you.

The timeline of pictures in the center of the book are exceptional! If every American would read this easily read book, they would have an excellent idea of what this country is up against. You will not be able to put this book down until you have read it all!

The tragedy of 9/11 should have been a wake-up call. As you will see from the book, there has been a string of terrorist activities against the U.S., we just haven't taken time to put it all in order. Lance does this for us.

The FBI many times have commited errors in judgement against the American people; FBI supervisors in the fight against terrorism apparently are too arrogant to listen to the man in the field. We saw this at Ruby Ridge and Waco, how long before the American people demand responsibility for their errors.

The two heroes of this book are Ronnie Bucca and Nancy Floyd. They deserve America's highest award. Peter Lance has written an excellent reference book for America.

Summary: Historic Importance
Review: 1000 Years for Revenge is insightful, and in the future will be the book that everyone tries to locate as a first look at the disaster that struck America. It explains how the FBI still labors under the tightly structured and self-serving rules established by J.Edgar Hoover, and gives us insight into the determination and planning of the terrorists that attacked us. Excellent and informative reading!

Summary: Insightful, Educational, Probing Investigative Journalism
Review: As an international attorney and former INTERPOL consultant, I found Peter Lance's book, 1000 YEARS FOR REVENGE, the best-written and most fully documented account of the terrorist attacks on the United States that I have read. INTERPOL should hire this author as a consultant on international terrorist matters.

Summary: Facts, history, and international intrigue...the Must Read!
Review: Having watched many CNN and History Channel "specials", I have resisted buying a book on bin Laden and the terrorists. However, after listening to the compelling arguments recounted by Peter Lance on public radio, I purchased his book. I have not been disappointed. This 500+ page thriller includes a chilling 30-page full-color timeline with photos recounting the important historical facts from 1989 leading up to 9/11 and to the present-day. There are both positive and negative revelations about FBI activities; you will both cheer and grimace. I finished this book ready for the sequel...and praying that our intelligence agencies are more aggressively succeeding in capturing and bringing these criminals to justice.

Summary: Excellent Research
Review: I had not realized there was more material to mine in the story of the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 but Peter Lance hit a motherlode in his recounting of the story of FBI agent Nancy Floyd and her relationship with Emad Salem, the FBI informant who could have prevented that attack. The story of Floyd and Salem is infuriating as it is clear that more senior FBI officials sabotaged what could have been Floyd and Salem's important contribution to breaking up the cell that carried out the 1993 Trade Center attack.
Lance's book is very well researched, well organized in its narrative, and a real page turner that reads like a fast paced book of fiction. Lance does not descend into political point-scoring, but he does make a compelling case that many opporunites were missed to root out al Qaeda in the United States. In my estimation certain officials in the FBI did have a very strong sense of the threat posed by al Qaeda. Lance nonetheless makes a strong case that the US government missed a multitude of opporttunities to extirpate al Qaeda in the United States going back as far as 1989.

Summary: A Laundry List of Soundbytes - Been Done Before And Better
Review: With such a promising title, this book offers little that hasn't been seen before in print or TV; other books published both before and after 9/11 offer so much more. There are no groundbreaking revelations offered here; no new information worthy of a literary work is provided in this book. Just more of the same repackaged as "groundbreaking." A huge disappointment.

Summary: Sure-to-be Bestseller
Review: This reader has read several books on the subject of international terrorism and this one is, by far, the best researched and most informative. The author calls it as he sees it and he's got better than 20/20 vision with facts to back him up. ReganBooks is a great publishing house and was wise to sign this award-winning journalist, Peter Lance, to write this book.
I expect that any Sunday now,it will appear on the non-fiction section of the New York Times Bestseller List.

Summary: The Missteps that led to 9/11
Review: This is a "must read" for every American who desires to learn the truth about the role the FBI played in the al Qaeda 9/11 success. The Bureau's engrained culture resulted in an intellingence failure of epic proportions. It is not simply about more Agents or better technology. What must occur is a radical change in the current culture that rewards ineptitude and lacks integrity. The fact that the FBI has failed to admit its failure does not bode will for the security of our country.

Summary: 1000 Years For Revenge
Review: Well written, well documented study of a series of events involving terrorist attacks on the US. Basically a study of how egos and poor attitudes crippled our ability to protect ourselves then and now. Clear examples of inter/intra agency missteps are given. This book should be a wake up call to agencies and individuals to change their focus . Getting the job done is more important than looking good. It also raises the question of how protected NY can be when drastic cuts are made to their Fire Deptartment and emergency services. It questions ,what exactly have we learned and what have we done to correct our vulnerabilities? It would be a tremendous tragedy if we have not learned from our mistakes after identifying them so clearly. It would be a shame if people got caught up in a political debate about this book as opposed to keeping the real issues in mind. Easy to read with a unique helpful time line.

Summary: Invaluable resource
Review: "1000 Years for Revenge" is an exhaustive resource for anyone who wants to know the real story of how 9/11 happened. The book painstakingly documents the chain of events from the 1993 WTC bombing through Sept. 11, and the staggering missteps by the FBI along the way. The book also offers shocking new information, including data on the status of the 9/11 plot in 1993 and new information about the Oklahoma City bombing. The end notes of this book are worth the price of admission alone. Unlike a lot of terrorism books out there these days, every claim in the book is very clearly sourced. Get it.
