Summary: what an inspiration
Review: Here is an excellent voice and speech improvement programm. It really works; I can benefit from it forever. Of all the courses I have studied, this is definitively the best one.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Great content but obsolete format - on the whole, good value
Review: I found this very helpful to understand the mistakes I make in pronouncing English - it's too early to tell whether my English actually improved, but I believe it will. I particularly appreciated the fact that the course does not require users to read the book while listening to the CD and can therefore be used on the move.
Why only 3 stars? Because the old tape format hasn't been adapted to the CD format. The sections are spread over multiple CDs or interrupted in the middle of a CD in a very confusing fashion. You also hear instructions like "Please flip the tape now".
On the whole, it's good value for money, though.

Summary: It is a great program to improve your pronunciation.
Review: I listened two of six cassettes. It emphasizes the confusions of the pronunciations of vows and consonants, which sound very closely to each other. The program compares the close pairs by choosing word pairs with one or two sounds different, you can hear clearly the difference. And also, those words are put into a short sentences to train your ears. I would say it is a really great program for you, if you really care about your accent. My own background: I begin learnt English from roughly at college, took TOEFL and came to USA 13 years ago for my Ph.D.

Summary: Best Program for American Pronunciation!!!!!!!!!
Review: I tried almost every program that's available on the market for improving my accent. This is by far the best program I have ever seen. I borrowed the cassettes from library and listened to them again and again. I love the program so much that I bought several copies of the cassettes and gave a gifts to my close friends and relatives who are trying to improve thier accent and pronunciation.
It is worth to keep it in your bookshelf. Really a breakthrough program in pronunciation.

Summary: I'll Wait for CDs
Review: The makers of this product need to "modernize" it and make it available on CDs. Till then, I'll just wait.

Summary: Great if you want a program to listen to while you drive
Review: There are better programs out there (Sam Chwat has the best accent reduction program for Americans with strong regional accents if you really want to do a thorough job of cleaning up your speech{"thorough" means that you are willing to work hard and put plenty of hours into the course}) but they all require that you look at the text while you listen to the tapes. This is the only program that is self-contained on the cassettes and is completely useful without the booklet that accompanies it. You can use these tapes in your car without ever needing to refer to the text. For this reason, the course is recommended.
If you need help with the "music" and rhythm of American speech, go with Ann Cook's excellent program. If you want to eliminate a southern, Chicago, or New York/New Jersey accent, hunt down Chwat's program. Get this program if you need something to use while driving or jogging and do not have time to study at a desk.

Summary: Great program for *BEGINNERS*
Review: This is a perfect pronunciation program for beginners or for those with STRONG accents. It really does emphasise main sounds and the things that are most frequently confused. But I was hoping to learn smth more advanced from it. These are very basic things.

If you are an advanced student and you want to eliminate this very slight accent that native speakers DO notice when they hear U speak, this is probably not the best choice. I don't know if there is any program for such people. Maybe you just need to live in a country for a while to perfect your pronunciation and if people don't have trouble understanding what you say, you shouldn't bother at all.

Summary: Great accent elimination program available in the market
Review: This simple but precise method of "listen and repeat what you hear" while listening to the tape is the best accent elimination/improvement program available in the market.
The small but handy accompanying booklet greatly compliments the tape so user can read thorough each audio lecture while listening- adds special benefit to non-english speaking people.
The cassette tape format is convenient for many people out there who can simply listen to the tape while driving (hey, not everyone has CD players in their cars yet).

This great program on tape is sure to help millions seeking to improve their english pronunciation skill.
