Rating: Summary: I HAD NO IDEA !!! Review: I HAD NO IDEA a liberal could write so much TRUTH! Isn't that against their rules? Guess that's why he's gotten in so much trouble with the Left lately. And he's done it with such wit! A truly enjoyable page-turner! You will certainly learn something new in this book, even if you are already well-versed in the knowledge of liberal propaganda. It's what the Media Research Center (...) has been proving all along...
Rating: Summary: There is no Left in America Review: Need I say more. The media is liberal compared to what? Considering there is no mainstream media that expresses dissent against the corporate oligarchy, they are just pawns of the same. An interesting read but totally off the mark.
Rating: Summary: Finally!...an insider speaks out Review: This book reveals what most of us already knew but never hear anyone report on. The bias in the media is overwelming. To the guy who says that corporations own the media and are therefore conservative....hogwash!...Fox News is the only network who could be labeled as such. Don't forget that CNN is owned by Ted Turner. Goldberg himself is a registered democrat and has never voted Republican...ever! This is an old style newsman who got fed up with being told what to report.
Rating: Summary: The truth comes out Review: This book proves what people have said about the media being in favor of the liberal viewpoint over any others. CBS is the worst of the group but all are UN-American because they tell us what to think. Just give me the news and I will decide.....GREAT BOOK BUT IT AS A GIFT BUT BUY IT. The war on terrorism should end with getting the liberal media out of power.
Rating: Summary: Goldberg right, Chomsky sooooooo wrong. Review: A couple of days ago I heard an NPR story about the rise in homelessness since the arrival in Washington of a Republican administration. "Right on time," I thought. I mention this because it's mentioned in this book along with a number of other issues that "go away" during Democrat administrations and are used to flay Republicans. If you listen to original sources and then listen to the reporting, you can identify case after case of left-wing bias in the major media. Unfortunately for the media, the bias is so obvious and so at odds with reality that people simply stop listening. It's a realization of Sillitoe's "Here are the lies!" from "Travels in Nihilon." This has not normally been remarked upon, people simply voting with their clickers. Viewership of the news on the three major networks is in the toilet and people are turning to alternative news sources. For myself, I find it odd that Chomsky can argue that there's some cabal of large corporations force-feeding us this tripe when people are obviously turning away from it. The service Goldberg has done us is to point out that the emperor has no clothes. For that alone he rates five stars.
Rating: Summary: It's about time someone wrote a book like this. Review: We've all known this for years, but finally, FINALLY, someone from the inside has the guts to say it out loud. Now that the cat's out of the bag, the big 3 network newscasts have a decision to make: they can keep denying and ignoring the problem, or they can fix it. As this book sells more & more copies, I wonder if the pressure will be enough on them to actually admit there's a problem and do something about it. Time will tell. . . .
Rating: Summary: (...) Review: (...) Trying to keep the truth from coming out Bias is a good idea but the truth is all US media is controlled by the right-wing corporate masters. There hasn't been any liberal press for nearly 20 years. Everything that Bernard says is a lie. Although I was forced to giver this piece of trash a single star it really rates a zero star (...)!
Rating: Summary: It's all a matter of perspective Review: Whether the media is "liberal" or not depends solely on one's political perspective. For me, the media is unabashedly conservative. I can accept that, as the US is generally a conservative society. The problem with the political right is that the only perspective that they wish to have presented is their own. Anything that does not parrot their world-view is condemned as "liberal."
Rating: Summary: Finally Review: This book did my heart good. The left-wing newspeople slander us in Israel every day, and it's not often that someone gets the truth out. Naturally, I was interested in BG's treatment of the Jews-murder-Christian-children libels and the praise of Hitler in Egyptian state-run newspapers. But his treatment was superficial. There are thousands of every-day distortions that BG failed to cite. Example: A few months after Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize, he went to a mosque in South Africa, and told worshippers to prepare for a jihad against Israel. CNN reported the event, and carefully explained that "jihad" was an ambiguous term, was not necessarily related to violence! I'm disappointed that BG didn't discuss the media's treatment of Israel in more detail. Still, I loved the book and many other illiterate, lunatic-fringe wackos like me will love it, too.
Rating: Summary: Finally: The Truth Review: Bernard Goldberg writes like I think. I guess that's why reading his book was so delightful for me, and that just talking about his writing style. The content of the book was eye opening and finally put words to what has been a recognized trend but never before publicized so well. Mr. Goldberg is amazingly courageous. I would return to watching ABC, NBC and CBS news if they (Dan, Tom, and Peter)would just report the news and let me decide on my own how I want to interpret it. A well-written book about a very important subject.
