Rating: Summary: The big picture with fine detail. Review: This book is geared not to the performance enthusiast, but to the veteran trouble-shooter and D.I.Y. home mechanic. Wonderfully clear briefs and specific testing procedures. In-depth theory and operation. Does not pretend nor try to cover specific data of all cars. This is the big picture, and then disected component by component. I found using the book with the factory manual worked best.
Rating: Summary: OK but not as complete as Watson's "How to Tune and Modify B Review: This book was not as complete as the previous review had rendered. The "how to Tune and Modify Bosch Fuel Injection" book authored by Ben Watson was more complete and addressed troubleshooting guides. This book required you to have a set of OEM manuals for the proper spec's. The book was a good overview on operation and theoreticals on the systems but didn't allow enough info for the tuner and troubleshooter, especially for the CIS systems.
Rating: Summary: Great book, but... Review: This is an excellent book detailing the theory of operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Bosch fuel injection systems. It covers in great detail all models of the Bosch systems. The modifing and tuning chapter is a bit lacking, though. It gives you some ideas about how to modify the system, but doesn't go into very much detail. The part I was most looking forward to reading about was recalibrating the air flow meter. The book only had three paragraphs on recalibration and didn't even touch on how to do it. Oh well, there is always the internet...
Rating: Summary: A practical book on EFI and Engine Management Review: This is an excellent text for the DIY enthusiasts who need to know the working principle of electronic fuel injection and, to a lesser extent, engine management. It is more on the servicing than on the performance tune-up side. The chapter on high performance tuning is rather short. If you have little idea on how fuel injection work, this is a book for you.
Rating: Summary: What isn't in here isn't worth knowing Review: Well written, comprehensive and structured so that you don't need to be a rocket engineer to understand and maintain your Bosch fuel injection / engine mgmt system.Highly recommended
Rating: Summary: F.I. Bible Review: Whether your car be Japanese. German, American or what ever, chances are its injection system is licensed from Bosch. This book covers electronic, mechanical and everything in between; as far as cars go. I've used it on my BMW, Mercedes< and Chevrolet, and I'm a beginner as far as fuel injection goes. Clear, concise, and written for the laymen as well as for the technician. This is the bible on fuel injection.
