Summary: I DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT
Review: I have studied this fascinating language for about 4 years now and came across this wonderful book about 2 years ago! I literally do not leave home without it (and about three other Spanish practice books) I enjoy the format, it is very easy, and the drills in the back allow you a chance to put to work what you just learned or practiced. The glossary section gives you more "fit together phrases" that may go against the correct grammar usage, but are just "said that way" phrases! I recommend this book for every beginner, and for those advanced learners that need a little more practice! Buena Suerte mis amigos!

Summary: Great book
Review: Compared to English verb tenses, Spanish can get really tough in this area. I grew up learning Spanish, but have lost a lot of the language from not practicing it enough. I especially have trouble with verbs and their correct usage. This book has slowly helped me to improve that. It's very easy to find your word and it lists all tenses. If you really want to improve or just want to double-check yourself, I would recommend this book.

Summary: Perfect structure - some important verbs still missing!
Review: Actually I love this book. It is so easy to look up verbs in it. They are really fully conjugated in all the tenses you need to know. The only problem with the book is that there are simply more than 501 Spanish verbs in reality! I was often frustrated when I looked for a verb and couldn't find it. However, I would still recommend this book as there is NO other choice!

Summary: Understandable and useful
Review: I bought this book over a year ago, and my copy is sufficiently worn out that I'm considering replacing it. I have taken courses in spanish for three years, and find that this book is a must-have for any serious spanish student. The format is useful for quickly finding what you're looking for. There are titles in this series in several languages, and there is a version in French by the same author.

Summary: 501 Spanish Verbs
Review: This book is an absolute MUST for any student of the Spanish language. It has every verb I have come across in my first year of studying Spanish with every congugation and in every tense. It also explains the way in which each tense is built, how and when to use them and includes idiomatic expressions.

Summary: good for those who want to really know the language
Review: The complexity of the Spanish language is somewhat simplified in this easy-to-use book. If you're traveling in a hispanic country for a short period of time and just wanna get around, try berlitz, but if you really want to know the language, get this book. This book includes an in-depth explanation of each of the 14 Spanish tenses and dictates when they should be used, along with providing a full conjugation of 501 essential verbs (for daily life) in all fourteen of the tenses and with every person (1st person, 2nd, plural, singular, etc). Also, this is a brief section of quizzes/assessments at the end of the book to help you practice the verbs. This book is ideal for anyone who wants to master the spanish language, from learning one verb in all its tenses to learning as many verbs as possible in only a few tenses, or maybe even all of them. Although this book is no substitute for communicative practices with other people, it DOES substitute as an independent study guide for the spanish language. Another great feature is that many of the irregular spanish verbs are included, like ir and ser, where some tenses don't have regular stem changes or follow the regular endings of each tenses (which are provided as well in the book). I recommend this book for anyone interested in mastering spanish verbs, from first time users who are just grasping the language to already-fluent speakers who simply want to "stay in shape" with the spanish language. I recommend this book, at the other books in the 501 verb series like french, english, hebrew, german, portuguese, latin, and japanese.

Summary: If you need to know many conjugations buy this book
Review: This book is very good because it conjugates thousands of Spanish verbs. It has 501 verbs conjugated and then hundreds in the back of the book in which the 501 stand as models. The verbs also have expressions that goes with them for more usage of the verb. It's a great book.

Summary: Significantly Reduces Conjugation Anxiety Syndrome
Review: I was told this was an unnecessary purchase by my Spanish professor, maybe he expected too much of me. Unless you go to class with a suitcase on wheels, or a small forklift, it's a little bulky to cart around with all the other textbooks you need to have. However, when you're doing your homework it's indispensable. I would question the necessity of listing all the compound tenses, it seems repetitive to me, and missing these out would slim the volume by 50 percent and make it almost handbag size.

Summary: THE #1 Reference for State Department Language Students
Review: This review is going to be really simple. I completed the Spanish course at the State Department's Foreign Service Institute. It's a good course, but I don't know ANYONE who survived the pace without this book.

I agree with some other reviewers who call it a crutch. For me, it's more like a wheelchair. But on the other hand, I can't count the number of times I'd have been flailing trying to remember say, conditional forms of sostener, por ejemplo.

I wish someone would create that machine in THE MATRIX where they upload you with Spanish, but until then, it's going to take the old fashioned way.

Take the plunge and buy this baby.
