Summary: The Cutting Edge
Review: When you strap on Coulter's 'Treason' be prepared for a Nine G ride through post-WW II American history with no holds barred, no prisoners taken. Ann Coulter may be one of the brightest minds on the political analysis scene. She takes a stunningly fresh, in-your-face approach to historical characters and events that have become mythologized in the American mind. While quick as a dagger thrust with accusations of treason, Coulter does not flinch from backing her accusations with extraordinary scholarship. She dips heavily into the Verona Papers and other released documents from the KGB files of the now defunct Soviet Union. Were they Soviet spies? Coulter lets the Soviets themselves answer that damning question.
Whether the target is a convicted spy ring like that of the Rosenbergs or a former icon of American foreign policy like Dean Acheson, Ann Coulter takes them all on. She adopts a strongly pro-Joe McCarthy posture that deflates preconceived notions that have been force fed to generations of Americans suffering under a politically correct educational system. Her stance on McCarthy alone is certain to elicit a gasoline-on-the-fire response from the hysterical left. And there is more, much more to come.
Ms Coulter has an attorney's sharp eye, an historian's thoroughness and a warrior's bravery in taking on the tough issues. She seasons her commentary and analysis throughout with an impish wit certain to enrage her detractors and delight her fans.
This is a must-read for anyone concerned with America's fate in these tumultuous times of War on Terror. Coulter's book gives us an idea of what is behind many of the voices that whine for 'appeasement and restraint.'So don't wait: buy 'Treason' today!

Summary: A Lively Acid Tongued Tonic to Left Wing Revisionism
Review: Ann Coulter is a flame thrower and enjoys getting under the skin of her opponents. If pointed debate is not your cup of tea don't read this book.

However, if you are ready for a fast ride through American history from a Conservative perspective this is the book for you. Ann names names and documents events from the 1940s and the Communist infiltration of the Federal Govt. in high places in both the Roosvelt and Truman administrations. She discusses the events of the 1950s when Senator Joe McCarthy and a young Congressman named Richard Nixon pointed the well informed finger at Soviet spies including Alger Hiss. She continues on through the appeasement shown the USSR from every President (both Democrat and Republican) between FDR and Jimmy Carter, but outlines the reasons Ronald Reagan won the Cold War.

Agree of disagree with Ann, she gives plenty of documentation with about 40 pages of footnotes.

This book is enormous in scope for it's length. Therefore it can't cover the subject at the scholarly lengths that other books could, but that's not the point here. Ann is shining her light through a thick veil called 'McCarthyism' which the Liberals have wrapped themselves in to stifle debate.

Ann has used the avalanche of new documentation taken straight from decrypted Soviet cables to document her case for a new generation.

There are other books that go into greater detail on this material and I would quickly list Whittaker Chamber's book 'Witness' as the primary source, but I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in American 20th Century history.

Summary: treason
Review: This book changed my view of everything! I had minimal interest in politics and graduated from an Art School, so my education was pretty liberal. This book taught me to question where I got my facts from and how to view the media more realistically. The immense number of facts and footnotes is a necessary balance to watching network news. I highly recommend it for everyone, even liberal democrats, for the pure factual information provided. Also, I found it very entertaining and fun to read, as unusual a combination as that is. Read this Book!!!

Summary: Liberals Unfit to Govern
Review: In this book, Ann Coulter lays out the case that proves our modern liberal-wing has become unfit to govern a free society. Copiously researched, the supporting factual record she bases the case on consumes 46 finely printed pages of references and citations in the bibliography.

I have watched in dismay the relentless destruction of first the language and then the moral institutions and traditions of America by the liberals. Therefore Ann's rhetorical style, a veritable full-armed back-handed pimp-slap, is refreshingly restorative.

The so-called "sensitive, caring, tolerant" left has willfully and with malice aforethought attempted to besmirch and destroy all those who don't march in lockstep with their precious ideology. Ann chronicles their modus operandi in the case of McCarthy, Reagan, and others. With devastating effect.

For those interested in truth, told with gloves-off boldness, there is no better than this. The well-deserved decline of American leftism should be accelerated greatly as the message in this book permeates the culture.

Summary: Excellent, intelligent book!
Review: At last, the truth about Joe McCarthy. This is a hard hitting, factual book which exposes many of the lies we have been fed since grade school. And she proves her points with facts. Funny, witty, and sarcastic. Educating and entertaining. Awesome. This should be required reading for all high schoolers in America. And anyone who wants to enrich their minds and learn about history.

Summary: Mistaking Dissent for Treason
Review: When children are told 'no' they have tantrums. That's very similar to Coulter's attitude in this book.

Dissent is not treason and should not be mistaken for such. Honest disagreement with our government is as much in our role as Americans as is our loyalty to its causes...and when we disagree, we should take action at the ballot box or the editorial page.

If this were not so, we'd still be British Citizens. (Long Live the King!)

I'll support Coulter's right to be a loudmouth if she'll support mine.

Summary: A disgusting rant from a disgusting woman
Review: I served my country with honor in the US Navy for almost 13 years, and will not stand by idly while a witch like Coulter and her loyal (blind) followers refer to folks like me as TRAITORS simply because our political leanings are liberal. This is still America, where differing points of view are still welcome...or are they? What a shame that any American thinks the way she does. Save your money- you can read most of the contents of this insane rant on the Internet (the book is mostly recycled columns). I borrowed my copy from a friend... I won't give Coulter a thin dime.

Summary: The History Someone Forgot To Tell Me ..
Review: I just bought the book and am on page 49 - not real far, but far enough into the book to write a review.

Firstly, I would not recommend this book to people who cannot take some sarcasm and everything else that is the trademark Ann Coulter behavior. If you've seen her on TV or read anything else of hers, her public personality really shines through and some people just don't get it.

Secondly, this book is fasinating. It should not suprise anyone with half a brain that McCarthy would one day decide to start pointing fingers at people calling them Communist spies. Most people don't normally decide to do something like that overnight as it has been suggested in the classrooms. We're given all the reasons in the world for most everyone elses behavior in history, but somewhere along the line history books have failed to report McCarthy's reasonings.

In any case, Coulter's points are startling, but with a little thought, not all that suprising considering the clear lies coming from Democrats even today.

Summary: Garbage
Review: Why does anyone take this ignorant witch seriously as an intellectual? I'm definitely NOT a conservative but there are at least a few conservatives whose intellect I somewhat respect...but this woman is definitely not one of them. I can't believe how often she shows up on some TV show panel plugging this awful book. Can't they find anyone more intelligent?
