Summary: IT OBSCENITY AND SHOULD NOT BE PROTECTED SPEECH
Review: A great Supreme COurt Jusitce once said about obscenity, " I know it when I see it."

This book is obscene. Not only is it untrue, it has no redeeming social merit, it is calculated to incite lawlesness and it falls outside the realm of protected speech. It is not the left which is treasonous, it is the extreme right, of which COulter is a card carrying member. WHo needs Osama bin Laden to destroy this country when we have the likes of COulter?

Summary: Truth is revealing
Review: I also served my county in the US Navy and have been around for every President form Franklin Roosevelt. I have been a witness for the exact things that happened, for which Ann Coulter is talking about. I never voted for a Democrat in any election. I'll tell you why. I saw how Roosevelt gave all that power to Stalin after the war. Then Truman was allowing all those commies on his staff and making just terrible decisions. One of the worst was removing MacArthur from Korea. MacArthur would have WON that war for the USA! And the most despicable President was Clinton... He was, and is, a disgusting (his wife also) human being. This book is a must read for people that really want to know the truth. I'm sure that liberals will be denouncing what I have written. But isn't that what liberals always do with the truth. Never trust a liberal. Always question what they say!!!

Summary: ANN FORGOT SOME WHO NEEDED TRASHING
Review: I like Ann Coulter personally so I can't throw too much dirt on her "Treason." I thought she glossed over a few cogent points. For example, after dishing the dirt on countless people she left the egregious SecDef McNamara completely unscathed. If anyone deserves a roast it's McNamara ... he has to be a Berkeley grad. Also, she let Harry Truman off much too lightly for the miserable way he put our troops in Harms Way in Korea. Old Harry could dish it out, could fire our greatest warrior in history but couldn't give our troops a fair chance to live through Korean combat. Most units flown or shipped over from Japan were at 60% strength, had pathetic equipment, at least 20 soldiers of my old 24th Recon Company landed in Pusan wearing tennis shoes--no combat boots were available. My classmate aboard a ship bound from Seattle to Korea wrote of his 2nd Division, "Harl, I don't relish going into combat with this poorly trained, poorly equipped outfit." In Feb 1950 I went to the 82d Airborne Division to find most all its vehicles up on blocks for want of gasoline and no ammo was available for training. The unenviable 82d was America's strategic reserve. Imagine!! So Harry, like most pols, surely let down the military while yapping threats to the bad guys.

Also, I don't believe Ann gave a fair description of China as to who in America won or lost China. To be sure, there were people in America, the venerable Vinegar Joe Stilwell for one, who wanted to back what Ann calls the Chinese agrarian communist gang. Joe knew a capable soldier when he saw one. Chiang Kai-shek was salting away American money as fast as he could pack it while at least Mao and his soldiers were out furiously killing Japanese. Now I ask you, "Who, in a military sense do you back? Joe Stillwell's Chinese or FDR's State Department selection? We broke our Dixie Mission word with Mao and he hated us for it all the way to the Yalu.

Summary: The Coulter Fallacy
Review: Just one point. To call Senator McCarthy a patriot is the perfect example of the Coulter fallacy. The number of lives that were destroyed by the House Un-American investigations would be reason enough to denigrate this man. But more importantly, the use of fear during his reign, the name calling, the implication that anyone who does not agree with the governmnet is a traitor is the perfect analogy for the current attempt by the faux historian, Coulter, (and many others) to silence all discent in this country so that fundamentalist fanatics like the author can maintain a strangle hold on free speech and free thought.

Summary: Entertaining and Ridiculous
Review: The difference between Ms.Coulter and Micheal Moore, other than the obvious, is that while Micheal Moore knows that he is comical Ms. Coulter is unaware of how her over the top attacks are so outlandish that they become funny. It is good to know that some people consider liberals to be a threat(The mainstream media generally dismisses liberals as irrelevant and pathetic). Apparently Ms.Coulter is so paranoid about liberals that she may be a candidate for a straitjacket if she becomes any more frightnened of the impact of liberalism on the nation. The main plus of this book is that I'm sure most savvy Republican polticians consider Ms. Coulter to be no asset to their cause.

Summary: Illuminating!
Review: As a long-time conservative and follower of the William F. Buckley brand of conservatism, I felt that I was well read on the subject of Joe McCarthy. I missed the Venona Project story when it broke, probably because mainstream media did not make much of a fuss about it. The New York Times probably had it buried with the obituaries, which I haven't browsed since I passed my fiftieth birthday. So when I saw a preview for Treason, and having become a fan of Miss Coulter's prose and a sweaty follower of her television appearances, I ordered a copy. Well now I know the truth about Senator Joseph McCarthy, and I am angry about the acts of the Democrats in the forties and fifties. Miss Coulter writes with great humour, and I rarely finished a page without laughing out loud, causing my wife to finally look suspiciously at what I was reading. I hid the dust jacket with Ann's photo on it after that. Miss Coulter has produced a wealth of information in her book, all backed up with quotes and copious notes in the back. Treason should not be missed. And if you enjoy this book, try her previous book, Slander.

Summary: Enlightening, Humorous, and Hits the Nail on the Head
Review: Ann Coulter is a genius! She has exposed the soft underbelly of Liberalism. She has shot the legs out from under all the Liberal arguments from McCarthyism to Feminism. I learned a lot in this book. I don't think most Americans have even heard of the Venona Project (which proved McCarthy right). And I'm sure most Liberals would prefer we remain in the dark about that little "detail." They just love to accuse anyone they don't like as being "McCarthyistic." After Treason, that term is a complement. And let's not forget, this book is REALLY FUNNY! I found myself laughing out loud at Coulter's satirical wit (I actually highlighted lots of profoundly funny passages). And, while being funny as heck, she exposes the utter stupidity of the Liberal arguments. She sites tons of examples of Liberals siding with our enemies while pretending to be shocked that anyone would question their patriotism. After Treason, there is no question about it-Liberals are traitors. This book has all the makings of an ongoing series of books on this issue. As national and world events unfold, fresh evidence of treason reveals itself in the media, leftist politicians, and self-anointed Liberal elites in entertainment and elsewhere. Coulter has splashed water on our faces and told us to be mindful of reactions to events that pit America against her enemies. I'm watching and reading the news and going "Uh-huh..., Ann Coulter talked about that in her book." This is a must-read for all patriotic Americans who can't depend on getting all the news and the right perspectives from the Liberal media. Way to go, Ann!!!!!

Summary: I couldn't put it down!
Review: Few books that I have read, inspired me as this one has. I am not a scholar or a political person, I am a middle class, taxpaying, (and a minority) family man. However,it has always amazed me that a relatively small group of people in Hollywood and Washington, constantly refer to their own rediculous, far left ideas as "the Country thinks, or America feels". These people don't represent me, my relatives or my neighbors. I can't think of anyone I know who believes like these people do, as a whole. No one I know thinks we should let Third World countries threaten and stare us down. I have yet to meet the person who thinks that the U.N. should decide whether or not we should defend ourselves. No one I know thinks we should take it easy on confessed, convicted murderers and rapists. Not a single person I know thinks we shouldn't have gone to war in Iraq. I can't name a single person who thinks that two men having sex and playing "house", consitute a family. And finally nobody in my business, social or religious cirlce thinks Communism is an possible alternative. Ann Coulter, who I knew little about before reading this book, has given common people a voice. Page after page had me exclaiming to myself, "I knew it!" I find it interesting but consistent that people who have given this book a one star rating had nothing to say of it's content, only that it was "partisan, stupid or facist". Never mind the facts, let's not confuse our sacred ideology with worthless facts. If you are tired of fourth grade antics like, "the one who calls the most names and makes the most noise wins", you'll be fascinated by the indepth fact finding in this book. I couldn't put it down, you won't be able to either!

Summary: sheesh.
Review: this book truly is awful; not just because i disagree with every single thing that ann coulter has to say, but also because her research is nothing more than quotes plucked fom various sources that back up coulter's point of view. if she could actually prove anything she claims as truth - i.e. that protesting wars makes a person treasonous, or that all liberals really do hate america - i'd be more willing to take her seriously, even if i still disagreed with her. but as it is, this is really just one huge editorial masquerading as truth. it's all well and good for people to write their opinions, but don't pretend that it's actually fact.

and since when did supporting the seperation of church and state make anyone treasonous? i guess this means thomas jefferson was a traitor, too.

Summary: Riveting and thought-provoking
Review: After devouring this book, I went to my book-shelf and finally began reading REDHUNTER by William Buckley. If nothing else, TREASON should re-open the discussion of the McCarthy years. I believe that discussion would be extrememly useful. I think we have, to date, been presented with only one very biased side of this part of our history. And Ann Coulter is a major player in demonstrating the damage this bias continues to have on our country. Oh, yeah, it is, also, in places fall-out-of-the-chair hilarious.
