Summary: Why, Ann, Why?!
Review: Ann, why don't you return my phone calls?? When we met at the Klamath Falls Greyhound station, I instantly fell for your steel-cold, crazy eyes. You gave me a swig of your wild turkey from a brown paper sack, and said "don't mess with Connecticut, bee-yatch", I remember. Later on, as you were pushing me up against that musty bathroom wall and breathing your hott republican garlic breath into my push-up bra, I thought we would be forever. Forever baby. Now I'm frikkin' knocked up in the middle of Oregon and I see your hott bony frame on that huge cardboard display every time I go to Barnes and Noble, and Ann, I go a little crazy. I get a little misty. I'm flyin' my flag high for you baby, and don't worry, I'll never tell a soul that your dinker is tiny and crooked. Send child support checks, Ann, and better luck next time on the whole "quality authorship" thing you've been goin' for.

Summary: Brave Insights
Review: Ann does it again... successfully, honestly, and without mincing words. Her astute observations are ones that I wish more people would open their eyes and see. I truly enjoyed 'Slander' and 'Treason' was a brilliantly written sequel. Ann is an inspiration to anyone who loves their country and wants to see it preserved. As well as a great orator, her books are captivating and sensible. She is a controversial and shocking pundit, and that's exactly what we need.

Every paragraph is a journey into the truth. Every sentence is full of illuminating and sensible conclusions and judgments. People that knock her are not reading the book, they are glimpsing through the pages (illiteracy will do that). To them, Ann is guilty for being successful and able to withstand petty insult from liberals. This is one of the best books I've read by a strong, intelligent conservative with the talent and ability to stand up and tell it like it is. Excellent job, Ann... keep up the good work!

Summary: Definatlely the Worst book Ever
Review: Hmm, where to start. When i was given this book as a present by my Conservative (BUT not WHACKO) Father I decided to read it with an Open Mind. Too bad Ann doesn't have one. Her pitch to make McCarthy out to be good was one of the funniest (unintentionally) things i have ever read. All the Democrats are guilty of Treason (Does that include me?). I enjoyed her racist views of Arabs, thinly vieled as witty remarks. She complains about a lot yet doesnt seem to offer up any solutions to anything. Which is interesting because that's what she accuses Democrats of. I was in the Military, I suppose her and I could have a long talk about her many years of service to the USA. I was also completly distracted by the errors that should have been caught by somebody, ANYBODY! I wish i could think of one good thing to say about this book but i cant. Oh wait, it really made good kindling for the fire.

Summary: Please.
Review: duhhhhh - AMERICA!

duuuhhhhhhhh - PATRIOT!

duuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh - GOD!

Duuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - GOD-FEARING AMERICAN PATRIOTS!

If you believe, as Ann Coulter evidently does, that life is fundamentally simple - that every issue can be pared down to a choice between "us or them," "patriots or traitors," "Christians or the damned" - then you too can write a book like this, an ugly little book that celebrates the virtues of divisiveness, raw anger, and unfounded belief.

I've recently been reading Ayn Rand's ouvre, and I am dismayed by the clear parallels between Coulter and this novelist/philosopher from the '60s and '70s. Both authors have (or had) a strong following in their time, with books at or near the top of bestseller lists. Yet reading either author produces a sensation much like having a hammer smashed repeatedly against my forehead. The writing is not merely harsh or insistent, it is programmatic, it is propogandistic. "THIS IS THE WAY THE WORLD IS," both women scream. 'YOU WILL BELIEVE WHAT I AM TELLING YOU AND, IF YOU DO NOT, YOU ARE WORSE THAN THE PIECE OF EXCREMENT I STEPPED IN THIS MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK." Objectivity is out of the question. Fact-driven discourse is out of the question. With writers like these we are forced to walk reluctantly in the world of Faith, and True Believers, and The Gospel According to So-and-So, Acid-Tongued Celebrity Pundit.

Rubbish. Might as well ask me to believe every word of the King James Bible, or everything I hear on TV news broadcasts. Or, for that matter, anything that comes spinning out of the Bush White House these days.

Is American democracy based on free speech and free thought, or isn't it? Do I have a right to make up my mind based on hard evidence and reason, or don't I? Perhaps I am simply doomed to subscribe to one or another of the COMPLETE WORLD VIEWS championed by popular know-it-alls such as Coulter or Rand. I fear it is only a matter of time before I am completely brainwashed by either the Left, the Right, the Above, or the Below. Is there no place in this world for rational, hate-free discussion?

To sum up: If you're the kind of person who likes to split everyone into two clearly defined camps so that you can belittle, harass, disenfranchise, or perhaps even prosecute or imprison those who think differently than you, then this is your book. Coulter's heroic recasting of Senator Joseph McCarthy and the widely discredited '50's mindset known as "McCarthyism" should clue you in to the true nature of "Treason." If you liked Senator Joe, you're gonna love Ann.

For my part, the best thing I can say about "Treason" is: Ms. Coulter looks stunning in a little black dress.

Summary: Some of This is Over The Top
Review: I guess I have to say that I am conservative since I am in business and always vote conservative or similar. But hold on a minute. It is one thing to be conservative and another thing to be a bit looney. Why is it that any kind of crazy book is now in print? I guess that sell. But this book is really quite weak.

Two stars and I am nice.

Summary: Trash Politics Poorly Written
Review: As the Boondocks suggests, look for the Adam's apple. Blond and lanky, perfect for the fringe nuts on the right. Glad it cannot be read on Amazon. If you are in Barnes & Noble, put one of Michael Moore's books in front of it. Or send one COD to Richard Perle. He probably keeps a copy next to the toilet, which is appropriate.

Summary: Wow ...
Review: Man ... I'm drunk on New Year's and what do I do? Review conservative books on Amazon. Who is the loser, anyway? This book sucks ... she can't research to save her life. To be fair, she's not an idiot; she's tapped into a very lucrative market. She's a thin, blond Republican. If I had either characteristic I would have done the same thing myself. If you want a better book, read "A Random Walk Down Wall Street."

Review: Recipe for conservative thought, followed by Raggedy Ann-

Let stew in own juices for 15 years until extremely bitter. Serves only itself. WARNING: Nuttier than a fruitcake, and nearly impossible to swallow!

Summary: This was the worst book ever!!
Review: I hated this book! For one thing it was way out of my league and age group because I was not alive when McCarthy was interrogating all of the suspected Communists in the United States. This was a book that I had to force myself to read everyday because as many times as I would have to read and re-reread each and every page I still would not understand what it was talking about. I would have gotten a lot more out of this book if Ann Coulter would have taken a few sentences to give some background information on the people and situations that she was writing about. Coulter has some very strong opinions and if you do not agree with her standpoint then you as a reader could become very angry by the time that you finish reading her book because she does not "sugar coat" any of her facts or thoughts on the things that she covers in Treason.
I also started to disagree with Ann Coulter in the first paragraph of her book because she is stating that if you do not love everything that America is doing or has done then you are not a true American. This is wrong because who could believe everything that former President Bill Clinton was saying to do while he was lying under oath every other day. So if you doubted anything that Clinton said while he was President, then does that make you un-American?

Summary: BUSH&CO IRAQ WAR HURTS.. I NEEDED A LAFF AND SHE DID IT!
Review: Reason for awarding 5 stars: A learning experience. This book, pitifully attempting to appear scholarly, with perhaps 700 footnotes, some repeated on the same page, assures us that the inmates' disdain for facts and civility does not prevent them from taking over the asylum. Persons of good will must deal with this. Ms. Coulter, when you realize the deal you made to put yourself and name on this applesauce is a golden stairway to nowhere, it will lose its appeal for you. Lincoln said it best: "(I) tremble for the safety of my country...The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. It denouces as public enemies, all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes." To her and her benefactors who say all who question them are "UnAmerican", I submit that this statement is in direct opposition to the founders' intent. I had never heard of this author until this book was a gift from my first-born, who, exhausted from long commutes, work and law school, must have been dangerously duped by Hate Talk Radio. Oh, dear. Coulter's distortions of the McCarthy era (I was alive then, and later knew personally many Hollywood personalities who were wrongfully fired due to his paranoia), were mind boggling. As the daughter of a Republican leader, my Father and I watched the "hearings" on TV as one would watch a "cop show": not ever, ever, taking this attention-starved man seriously. Of course there were subversives in government, but ethical people's lives were ruined by his fantasies and half-truths. Not I, but my Father, Chief Liaison Officer for General MacArther, worked with and had great respect for General George Marshall, who was the opposite of the snobby, rich boy image created by Ms. Coulter. Unlike the way she (and her handlers) simplify reality, General Marshall's assignments were constructive, painful, difficult and complicated. A black and white world brings the benefit of undisturbed leisure. What fertile ground for the ego! Reading this, I am certain these nuts are having a heap of fun. The book contains the old formula: creating crises, (other than our real ones), enemies, (other than those genuinely out to get us), appeal to the lowest reptilian instincts. Without the reader's awareness, the contents must comfort his conscience for releasing all that nasty caveman panic/hatred, and reinforce that he/she, as goody-two-shoes Yes Man/Woman, is "overcoming evil, is flying above the clouds, is with it." Hogwash! I cannot respect this young woman as I should, until she reveals from whence she came, who her parents were, and who, and this is a big one, financed and did the writing of this book. I highly recommend it for broadening one's vision of what is Out There. Richard Mellon Scaife, who needed a raison d'etre after Tbe Cold War went pffft, began financing Clinton-hatred, using innuendo laced with cash. This time is said to be when, (via Paula Jones), Coulter went Big Time. Scaife has been named as one of her angels. I have no sworn/verified documentation and Scaife's modus operendus is shadowy, The inheritance from his Mom, now reputed to have grown to a billion, is not. There I go, trying to write like Ann Coulter, (except for the boring confession of not being Omnipotent.) I feel sorry for women of ambition who are unaware that they are being used. Yet, her arrogant attitude seems to be "Forgive me for I know not what I do, but please don't tell me." Other reviewers say she is pulling in bags of money. How does she spend it? For barbed-wire pretzels? PS Jesus is a Liberal. This gal appears to me like "a motherless child, a long way from home". She desperately needs a dictionary, some pragmatic history books, a Mother and perhaps a cold beer.
