Summary: Coulter brings Facts like no other...
Review: Having read her previous entry, Slander, I was anxious to get my hands on this new volume, Treason. It was a lively page turner for this Gen-Xer since I had accepted alot of so-called history as fact over the years. I was nothing short of mesmerized by the 'Manchurian Candidate meets 1984' (both actually mentioned in the book) world that was the Cold War era. Some parts literaly flabergasted me.

Coulter was her usual self, of course, footnoting every quote and factual reference so that no one can question her truths. In fact, the very point of Slander is played out in the negative reviews on this site. Readers will notice the locations and the content of those who gave negative reviews of Treason. They are generally near large population centers and they never refute any of Coulter's facts. They simply imply that she is making things up and then use personal attacks to divert attention from the subject. Classic Liberal-Communist ploys.

Thanks to Ms. Coulter I now have my eyes open to the "treasonous" behavior of people who were supposed to be acting honorably in our government. I also must thank her for shedding light on the true nature of Watergate and the McCarthy eras. The knowledge that one gains from this book is at the very least startling and at the most, a rallying cry against anything that smacks of liberalism (i.e. Communism) in this country.

From this day forward, going to label liberals as what they truly are: Communists whose values fly in the face of everything that being an American is all about...

Summary: More Sensationalism from Coulter
Review: Ann Coulter, one of the many conservative entertainers who jumpstarted their careers by hopping on the Clinton impeachment bandwagon, is now facing a dilemma: the national airwaves and presses are becoming inundated with conservative pundits. Gone are the days when political commentary focused more on journalism than entertainment, and gone are the days when Rush Limbaugh was one of the only "the party can do no wrong" pundits in national syndication. The success of the Fox News brand of "edu-tainment" has opened the door to literally hundreds of established celebrities and would-be upstarts, from Michael Moore to Michael Savage, all trying to make as much money as possible by pandering to a particular audience. Since Coulter's wildly inflammatory and insulting rhetoric has rendered her persona non grata with the national TV and radio networks, destroying any chance she had of getting her own show (even Fox News only invites her on occasionally), she has no choice but to distinguish herself by continuously "upping the ante" and coming out with more and more provocative and sensational content (much like TV networks are continuously pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable on television). This time around, Coulter has sunk to depths that would make the National Enquirer proud, accusing more than three quarters of the population of the US of treason, while in the same breath wildly defending a man who did much the same thing fifty years ago, Joseph McCarthy.

From the title onward, Treason is sensationalism of the worst sort. The tone is rude, spiteful, and arrogant, and Coulter does not even pretend to present balanced or objective evidence to support her disingenuous arguments. She omits large portions of history and substitutes invective for pertinent fact, all the while maintaining her theory that a vast liberal conspiracy lurks in the shadows, and she plays the same game with endnotes that she did in Slander, padding her book with an impressive list of citations, many of which are taken out of context or misrepresented. In true Orwellian fashion, she sets out not only to prove that liberals are treasonous and bitter, but to prove that ALL liberals have ALWAYS been treasonous and wrong -- thus, conservatives have always been right, and men like McCarthy are portrayed as unsung heroes persecuted by monsters like Edward R. Murrow. In the end, all this really proves is that Coulter is too young to have lived through the McCarthy era, and that she never bothered to interview anyone who did.

Like Slander, Treason it not a serious political work; it's entertainment, written by a fame-seeking entertainer, for a small but vocal audience. In a way, it's very much like the tabloids with headlines like "The Pope Admits He's Gay!" that we see every day in supermarkets. We know it's not true, but it's sensational and it grabs our attention (and our money) anyway.

Summary: Stop squealing 1-star stuck pigs; give some rebuttal
Review: Coulter has again reaped a bountiful harvest in this current pig-killing season; the bacon and ham hocks are hanging ripe in the smokehouse after her searing indictment of the Democrat party leadership during the 40's and 50s. But don't be misled, this book isn't pork, or any kind of meat at all. It is that wonderful and honorable (although quite rare these days) discipline known as HISTORY.

The porkers on the left are squealing, and this time the wounds appear fatal to their corrupt, disingenous and treasonous ideology. With the revelations of the Venona Project, there can be no denying that the Roosevelt and Truman administrations were filled with proven Soviet spies and Communist party lackies. Alger Hiss, Rosevelt's advisor at Yalta, was a Soviet spy. Julius Rosenberg, his wife and their cronies were Soviet spies who were responsible for holding the world hostage to nuclear Armageddon for 50 years, due to their providing of nuclear secrets to the Soviets. Of course Henry Wallace, former Vice President of the United States, was a Communist and Soviet sympathizer. And yet the New York Times, Washington Post, NPR et al continue to ignore the facts. But Coulter again (like her previous works) gives voluminous footnotes documenting the facts from which she demonstrates the truth about these matters.

Yet note all the 1-star ratings this great book has received from other alleged "readers". They are by in large one or two lines of name calling. Read any 5 of them and see how many times the word "hate" and "fascism" is used. See how little reference to specific content of the book they cite. Liberal partisans are obviously projecting their own hate onto the source of their unveiling and downfall. It is the hard left wing that are the professional "haters" in our society, as Coulter amply proves. Often times, this hard left is called "mainstream" by the hard left press (NY Times, etc).

Coulter demonstrates that liberal leadership has often been made up of wannabe totalitarians that are kept in check only by our Constitution and the liberty loving conservative patriots, like McCarthy, that rise up and stand in the gap at the critical times in history. But liberal leadership still has their shills in the old leftwing media. They are obviously staying up late at night to give 1 star reviews to this book they haven't read, and stating as "not helpful" all the reviews like this one.

If you're interested in Truth about Communism and the legacy of the Democrat party, read this book. If you don't like seeing facts cremating cherished ideological beliefs, stay in the dark and go on believing the lies. If you consider yourself a liberal and a patriot, then most likely you don't understand the realities your leaders represent, or the treachery. Read Coulter's version of the facts, check her sources (don't just start name calling), and make up your mind based on reality.

Read this book. Either believe the facts she's documented or do research and produce rebuttal. Card-carrying, rank-and-file liberals should look to their "great intellectuals" on the left to disprove Coulter's well-documented proofs that have destroyed what little credibility the liberal ideology represents. If she's making it up, prove it.

Proving Ann Coulter to be a liar would be a strong move to the hoop for the left. But you'd best get better round-ballers than so-called comedian and minus IQer Al Franken, or crackpot autistic Michael Moore. Otherwise, prove your superior intelligence by demonstrating that brilliant intellectual function: change your mind to line up with the facts!

And to you 1-star reviewers: give just 1 FACT clearly rebutting a footnoted documentation of fact in Treason. Just 1, come on.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning"...

Summary: Well documented expose of the Left
Review: Congratulations Ann on yet another bestseller. I breezed throught it over the weekend. A must read. Very insightful.

Summary: Similar to Stupid White Men, by Michael Moore
Review: Slamming of those with different view points, half truths, lopsided viewpoints, and downright irrationality. Coulter, The right's answer to Michael Moore, proves that smuggness and loathing are all it takes to sell a book in these divided times.

Not a book for those easily nauseated. Pure tripe.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Refreshing Rebuke
Review: Ann Coulter's voice is a refreshing rebuke to the endless tripe the liberal media espouses. Her sarcastic wit may put this unabashed exposé of liberal treachery a little over the top for some, but she is right on the mark in nailing Liberals for what they are. There is a certain gratification while reading this book as it ruthlessly confirms notions and suspicions of Liberal motives.

If you ever watched the Network News, read the New York Times, or suffered through Liberal rantings and wondered, "What planet are they living on?", then this book will go a long way in illuminating the underpinnings of their entire ethos.

Summary: Ann Coulter
Review: Ann Coulter's views on issues are similar to Rush Limbaugh who has some entertainment value, but no intellectual value. Ann Coulter is vulgar, racist, and boring.

Summary: Bravo!
Review: Ann Coulter minces no words in making her case.

Summary: Why do Democrats defend treason? Read and see.
Review: Although I am familiar with her columns, I have never read one of her books. Before reading this book, I was concerned that her style, which is well suited to column writing, might not translate well to a full length book.

It turns out I was wrong. The book is an easy read, full of information that few people today will be aware of.

This book will make dogmatic, knee-jerk Democrats wail. However, if read by more open minded folks, this book might just encourage some to take a closer look at the actual events of the "McCarthy" era rather than just what "everybody knows" about it.

If you grant her her point, doesn't honesty require her to be outraged as she is? Yes. But the liberal sob sisters and fellow travellers will demonstrate their complicity with treason by not even admitting this point.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent book
Review: I devoured Ann Coulter's previous book, 'Slander', and so I was eagerly awaiting 'Treason.' Coulter didn't dissapoint me.

'Slander' focused on the smear campaign liberals have waged against conservatives and gave many fascinating insights into the left's strategy and way of thinking. 'Treason' goes a step further and shows how liberals have sided with this country's enemies at every oppurtunity. It also debunks the liberal myths about 'McCarthyism' and shows how the left has used those myths as a shield from criticism.

Coulter's no-holds-barred style will frighten and enrage many liberals, and it should. They have no answers for her powerful arguments, only the same tired tactics they've been employing for years. But what should really worry liberals is the fact that 'Slander' was a bestseller, and 'Treason' is destined to be one as well.
