Rating: Summary: If you truly love your country Review: and the ideals it was built upon. If you love God and plain human decendy, boycott this woman! Her rantings make the founders of this wonderful country of ours role over in their graves. Shame on her!
Rating: Summary: FEARLESS, FUNNY AND ALL TOO TRUE Review: That Coulter is so loathed by so many only underlines how crucial it is for her voice to be heard.
Rating: Summary: Hard hitting and hiliarious! Review: Do not believe these other reviews that you see trashing this book. This book hits Liberals right in the gut and is backed up with facts and actual quotes. It is hiliarious and entertaining enough to fly through it. After many years of thinking that Joe McCarthy was a raving idiot, Ann really puts his life in a new perspective. It is a testimony to what liberals can do when they rewrite history. GREAT BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Who agrees with this rubbish? Review: Ann Coulter's guide to being a satanist wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't cleverly disguised it as a political book that pushes ridiculous conspiracy theories. Ann should finish high school and maybe even take some community college classes in logic. Maybe she could then form a rational argument.
Rating: Summary: Intellectual? Give me a break. Review: I used to wonder how someone who spouts such bigoted trash as does Ann Coulter could ever be considered an "intellectual." It has since become clear to me that it does indeed take a very devious and deviant kind of intellectual to dumb down, with such unerring consistency, all this vile and bigoted, clichéd trash to where it can be swallowed hook line and sinker, without eliciting so much as a gag reflex, by so many millions of the uneducated. Incapable of formulating their own opinions, they learn by rote these clichés, and then *think* they have an opinion.Millions of gullible and simple minds in lockstep, gobbling up fast-food for the mind, dancing to the strings of masters playing them like millions of marionettes. Does not bode well for the future of democracy in this country.
Rating: Summary: UGH Review: If I were this woman's mother, I would hang my head in shame. Her homework is sloppy, the titles of her books are nasty and ridiculous, and her attitude is that of one who has permanent PMS. Can't the American public find someone better to listen to and read than this person? I suppose if your television is stuck on Fox TV and your radio only picks up Rush Limbaugh, the answer is probably no. It is pretty easy to blame someone else on the woes of the world - liberals, feminists, Clinton - (what would she do if she had to eliminate these from her vocabulary?) - but it is quite another to offer solutions and even more so in a language that is not filled with venom and bitchiness. Do something positive for a change, Annie, with a positive attitude. If more people did that, we would probably be the kinder gentler nation that Bush Sr. was hoping for. As it is, we are considerably nastier in my opinion. I just can't figure out if we are nastier because of our commentators or we choose our commentators because we are already nasty.
Rating: Summary: Interesting, but should have been 100 pages shorter Review: I think everyone pretty much knows the basic premise of Treason. Liberals line up against the United States on pretty much every issue and relentlessly attack anyone who actually points that out (McCarthy, et al). In my opinion, the reason this book was not as big a hit as Slander is that frankly it is pretty boring at times. She spends way too much time rehashing the same point over and over about the Cold War. Anyone who is over the age of 30 knows quite clearly that the liberals were rooting (literally) for the Soviet Union. Anyone who has ever read a newspaper or listens to the Hollywood idiots on E! can reasonably infer McCarthy was probably not as bad as he is made out to be. She did not have to beat the point with a dead horse. It was somewhat fascinating to learn that the recently released CIA intercepts from the period (Venona cables) proved much of what McCarthy was claiming, but again, who is surprised? It occurred to me as I was finishing Treason that I wish someone would figure out why the liberals are so anti-American. Treason puts forth a reasonable argument for the fact of it, but provides no explanation for the problem.
Rating: Summary: Ann's research isn't research. Review: Ann has bragged many times about her huge number of "footnotes" (by which she means endnotes.) But if you actually looked at how Ann comes up with some of her facts instead of allowing her to spoon-feed her ideas to you, you could see her intentional deceit. When trying to claim that there were only X number of articles on some news story, she uses LexisNexis searches to justify her claim. Fair, right? Wrong! Let's say she wants to search for Bush's state of the union speech. If she wants to show some point about how "the liberal media" did not cover the event enough, instead of searching for "Bush" and "State of the Union," she might search for "Bush" and "State of the Union address" and "war on terrorism" and "economy" and "any other word that will limit the number of results." Don't let her get away with such treachery.
Rating: Summary: There you go again, Ann Review: If you see the world in black and white, buy this book. If your idea of heavy reading is "TV Guide", buy this book. If you have a big picture of Ronald Reagan hanging in your living room because you think he defeated the Soviet Union and ended communism (at least in the USSR), buy this book ... it will reinforce your prejudices and misinformation. This book is out and out nonsense and really doesn't deserve any stars. A lot of people must agree with this, because it is now down to 3 stars. Oh,Ann, I recently learned that Ike Eisenhower during World War Two, when faced with invading Berlin (it would be a great public relations ploy) and losing perhaps 100,000 men in the process, allowed the Red Army to invade and get the glory. Was Ike a traitor? I guess nobody thought so because he wasn't charged with the crime. He was a Republican and definitely not a liberal. Thank God, you were not in charge. You would have sacrificed countless American lives to get there first. But of course, you are a fanatic. I really don't believe that you believe what you write. You know that there is a large red-neck audience out there looking for someone to legitmatize their prejudices, and if you can make money doing it ... you go girl! But anyone who thinks critically, will dismiss it for the garbage it is.
Rating: Summary: Good Comedy Review: I find it hillarious that Ann Coulter decides to write a book acusing liberals of treason (A crime punishable by death) just after she writes a book complaining about how liberals 'slander' her. I like how she specificly declares in the first page of the pook that liberals are predispositioned to be traitors. Try this: Replace 'liberal' with 'jew' and 'America' with 'Germany'. Tell me who she sounds like.
