Summary: A perfect articulation of the absurdity of liberalism
Review: Coulter is so adept articulating the absurdity of modern day liberalism.

In an era of political correctness and moral relativish, Ann cuts through the political noise of the times with an effective historical submission that is thoughtful, truthful, balanced.

The Left will scream and rant, but what else is new?

Summary: Defending Joe McCarthy Is A Waste Of Time
Review: Ann Coulter makes some good points in TREASON. I wish, however, that less space was devoted to a defense of Joe McCarthy.

If the author eliminated the personal attacks on some of her enemies, the book would then have more credibility - but of course it would not be quite so entertaining. On balance TREASON was definitely a worthwhile reading experience.

Summary: Chickens come home to roost
Review: The online criticisms of Treason are sputtering, incoherent rage. This venom oozes out in attacks on her writing style (which the Los Angeles Times calls "bright...refreshing and provacative reading" and which the Washington Post calls "...a fluent polemicist with a gifr for Menckenesque invective...and she can harness language to sbutle, syllogistic argument.") The professional reviewers for newspapers which loath her conclusions believe that she writes well.

The fundamental problem is that the left was horribly and monstrously wrong about the Cold War. The level of Soviet penetration of American government and society has been well documented by liberals, beginning with Weinstein's book on Alger Hiss twenty-five years ago, which began as an attempt to exonerate Hiss and ended with an absolute and reluctant proof that Hiss was utterly guilty.

Venona, Soviet files, recantations by once respected leftists, statements by KGB and GRU agents - nothing will ever persuade many on the left that they were duped or willingly helped traitors to add immeasurable human misery because of their leftist bigotries.

Coulter's "problem" to leftists is that she pulls no punches. Why should she? Some of us expected after all the proof of Soviet infiltration that a few leftists would say something like "I'm sorry" - if not to us, at least to the 100 Million dead bodies communism produced or the 1.5 Billion slaves of communism.

But no. Just be quiet. Just move on. Pretend that communism was not as bad or worse than Nazism or Fascism. Or do what Ted Hall's wife did when confronted with his treason - claim it was necessary to give a vile anti-Semite, a torturer and the one-time ally of Adolph Hitler the atomic bomb because the Vozd was somehow more "progressive" than American leaders.

Ann - and the rest of us - will no more forget this holocaust than we will forget the holocaust of Jews, Poles, Gipsies and others under the Nazis.

Summary: Ann Coulter - A Scourge on Our Media
Review: Thankfully for Ann Coulter, America has been continually dumbed-down since the beginning of the Reagan Era. The time is right for anyone with a LOUD opinion to attempt to strike it rich through irresponsible journalism.

To be a lap-dog of the conservative right doesn't mean you have to distort the truth as a matter of style. Ann Coulter is an agent of America's declining sensibility. It took a few decades of erosion to prepare the ground for Coulter. Now here she is for the rising class of bootlickers and sheep that will participate in the continual decline of America's integrity.

Summary: What's next Ann?..
Review: What's next Ann?.. Bashing "liberal media" with a dirty toungue, and accusing them of covering up the crimes of Lenin, Stalin, Hô Chi Minh, Pol Pot, Nelson Mandela, Ortega, Kim Jung Il, Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro for years .

Summary: The Best Story is how timid most conservatives are.....
Review: That this book is marvelous goes without saying. Coulter is cut from the same cloth as Admiral Halsey. She takes no prisoners and isnt particularly interested in being warm and fuzzy with Liberals.

In Treason she lays out a case that frankly I had no idea existed and I consider myself to be fairly well informed. I had no idea how uninformed I have been and I am furious with myself for accepting the Lefts hobgoblins at face value. I have been fact checking her and so far I havent found anything that disproves her thesis....instead I have found shamefull examples of treachery from people who should know better. I cannot wait to read VENONA Decoding Soviet Espionage in America John E. Haynes and Harvey Klehr. And I thank Ann Coulter for opening my eyes to this great book.

But the biggest laugh or biggest treachery isnt the Left's reaction...that is predictable. No the saddest thing are the conservatives who are running around clucking about how mean she is....HOLY SMOKES PEOPLE. Exactly when do you people get tough with people who are attempting to ruin your nation of freedoms. Or are you determined to not fight lest you appear to be one of the common folks? Trying to appease the left is like trying to appease a mad dog....it only gets you bitten. We arent playing cricket here....the left plays for keeps and doesnt appreciate your abiding by obscure set of rules only you understand.

Summary: Pulling no Punches
Review: Anne Coutler, has a way with words. I am sure the words "Tell us how you really think" have been words that Anne has heard many times in her life. That being said, If you are a conservative you loved every word of it, if you are a liberal reading this book would be worse than the dentist. HOWEVER, if you are a fair minded person that can get through the sarcasm and flip to the footnotes section, you realize that Coulter is an author not afraid to do her homework. When you read a quote, its footnoted accordingly. After doing some Lexis-Nexus research (on some of her citations) I can attest that she did not take her opponents words out of context. Contrast that with Maureen Dowd's column on Bush a few weeks ago where she inserted a "..." that changed the meaning of Bush' remarks from that of her article.

Perhaps the best part of the book is the part on McCarthy. Coulter dedicates a good part of the book on him,and in doing so, refutes a number of misconceptions about him. As a reader who admittingly knows very little about McCarthy, it was an eye opener.

Coulter is a conservative Republican, she is also quite entertaining and quite the fighter, that does not however take away the fact that her arguments are still well researched and supported. A critical reader trying to get through the swamp of ideas in American Politics should definately read the book, examine the footnotes, and make a determination whether Coulter is accurate!

Summary: The most informative book written in 2003
Review: I was simply impressed by this book. Easy to read, and yet could be a doctoral dissertation withh all the facts and sources Ann uses. Only the most ignorant of individuals (aka extreme Democrat voters) could continue to see McCarthy as the bad guy and Alger Hiss the good guy after reading this book.

After reading this book, I now know why the Left so hates Ann. She's a sarcastic conservative, like Rush, so she can always make fun of the Left. Plus, she's sexy, therefore, the left can't do what they like to do with women they dislike (Linda Tripp for example), and disparage her looks.

Summary: Substance should be Apparent from the Cover
Review: By publishing a full body shot of Ms. Coulter on the cover, the publishers have made it clear that they intend to benefit from her sex appeal rather than her intellectual capabilities. After reading the book, I have to agree with their strategy. Anyone that considers 'Treason' a serious political read must pay a visit to their nearest mental institution.

Summary: Terrible
Review: Ms. Coulter does nothing but spew invective against the so-called liberals. She distorts facts, and preys on the nations current nervousness post 9-11. There's nothing new here that you haven't heard from Limbaugh et. al. I wouldn't recommend you waste your money on this diatribe.

Her defense of Joe McCarthy is particularly revolting. I don't think any honest scholar of history could justify in any way McCarthy's tactits or ignore the many lives he ruined. Yet, this is one theme in this book. If it wasn't seriously deranged, it would almost be funny.
