Rating: Summary: Reagan was right Review: "Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book." Ronald ReaganThis book is nothing short of the rantings of a disgruntled egomaniac. A pure work of fiction, subdivided by resentment and anger. Not good reading, but it may make excellent kindling for a fireplace.
Rating: Summary: Against all Evil... non-fiction? LOL RIIIIIGHT. Review: Then guy below me said it all. With recordings of Clinton talking about being handed Bin Laden and not taking him and with recordings of Clark stating how strong the Bush administration was on terror recorder PRIOR to 9-11 and the fact that the Commission asked Clark if he was lying then and he said no... this book is Fiction that should be thrown beside the likes of Tom Clancy. The only people that will like this book are people who dont like the truth. And the truth is out in the open for all to see.
Rating: Summary: Even the Washington Post discounts this person Review: They see it as a valid tactic to include Iraq in an investigation of terror and think his motives to be partisan. So do I. It seems amazing that the President could be critized for not moving against Osmana bin Laden before he attacked and for moving against Saddam in a preemptive way. Clark really sounds like the person who did not get the big job he wanted. If he is correct, then it is a pity that his image is so damaged.
Rating: Summary: You Can Tell Who The Reviewers Are Voting For.... Review: I have the benefit of being a Libertarian. I can come at this from an objective perspective. You can tell who most of the reviewers will be voting for based on their reviews. Liberals run on with "Finally the truth" sorts of reviews because they've hated Bush from the get-go.... and Conservatives do the whole "He's lying!" because they can't handle information contrary to what the administration tells them. It rocks their fragile little minds. In the end, I think the book is well-written and informative, and cites that pretty much everyone has failed them. This book is selling like crazy, and I'm glad. It's good for the people to hear about the events out of the mouth of someone who was present rather than either a "Bush is Satan!" or a "Bush is the best president EVER!" wacko.
Rating: Summary: Yet More Proof This Administration Lies Every Chance It Gets Review: I love the one-star reviews: one guy even CONFESSES that he hasn't read the book, but pronounces it wrong anyway! These are the kinds of people who will vote on one tiny issue and ignore the big picture. The facts are in, guys -- your fave Republican pres is a liar, and so are all his henchmen and women. This book is a strong case in and of itself. But add the unprecedented attacks on its author, the barrage of hatred and vitriol, and you begin to see the truth. The author worked for THREE Republicans and only ONE Democrat -- so how can he be accused of partisanship? Look, the boiler is beginning to rip apart at the seams. The rivets are popping. Steam is escaping from tiny hole after tiny hole. Cracks are straining the metal plates. It's about to blow! Read this book. Read a few others. Read the truth, not what the Administration spoonfeeds you with actors in infomercials. Watch how the henchmen contradict each other and themselves over and over again. No one says Democrats are angels, come on! But this administration has gone way too far. Stop agreeing just because they tell you to. Stop believeing everything they say. Read some George Orwell, then tell me whether or not they used his work as a manual for Doublespeak. Richard Clarke tells the truth. Honest Republicans (I'm sure there must be some!) have to face it -- or continue to be made into fools. While the Pres jokes about looking for WMD under his office furniture, several US soldiers HAVE DIED cleaning up his mess. Ask Richard Clarke if any of this is a joke. Ask the 9/11 families. Ask the military families. Ask innocent people in Iraq. Ask... don't just accept. Ask!
Rating: Summary: Clarke is a disgrace and a tool Review: This guy needs a swift kick in the ... He has simply moved ahead of John Kerry, Bill Clinton, and Al "sore loserman" Gore as the latest in a long line of liberal flip-floppers. The fact that the left-wing machine and liberal media are allowed to politicize the 911 hearings is not only in very poor taste, it is also the most hidious example of how far these scum bags will go to gain power. The fact that this guy would say it was an honor to serve under the President one minute, and then completely rip him the next is not surprising. What is surprising is how far he goes to make Dr. Rice seem like an idiot when it is truly he that is inferior to her political intelligence. He only exposes his own short-comings and mistakes in this nonsensical piece of garbage. He and "Slick Willy" are to blame for any intelligence failures, because it is THEY who reduced the intelligence budget 7 out of 8 years. If you really want to be a lemming for the left-wing agenda buy this book! If you can actually think for yourself, you will no doubt have already determined what a complete self-centered, egotistical, maniacal, absurd human piece of filth this guy is!!!
Rating: Summary: An Important Work for America... Review: Whatever the media hype may be, this book exposes important facts. Clarke is a Republican, who is not pushing a party agenda, and has the guts to stand up for what is right. The book also lets the regular citizen have a good look at what goes on behind the scenes in national security.
Rating: Summary: The Truth Review: Now who are you going to believe? An administration that lied about WMDs in Iraq, or a former official who is admitting finally to the lies and deceptions they all participated in? For once, a book that apologizes to the public for the wrongs they all have done to our nation, soldiers and the foundations of our government.
Rating: Summary: Disgruntled employee who formerly CRITICIZED CLINTON Review: When someone in the FBI wrote an expose on Clinton it was buried by the tv stations and media until the Lewinsky story broke. Somehow this guy was given endless air time even by a station that is also his publisher (talk about a conflict of interest). Does anyone REALLY believe Condi Rice didn't know who Al Qaeda was? Or that this isn't the work of someone who was so passed over and bitter? The U.S. did attack Afghanistan as Clarke recommended but they also saw a bigger picture in Iraq, a country which has used chem weapons, sponsored terror and not abided the ceasefire terms of the first Gulf War(not to mention being a butcher). This guy clarke has contradicted himself (in public statements) which probably won't matter to people who hate Bush and cling to any Bush bashing book or article. Recommended for mindless Bush haters but people who want the truth will ignore this book, read various articles from different sources on Richard Clarke and learn the truth.
Rating: Summary: Two words...BALD FACED LIES! Review: I haven't read this book, I don't have 30 yrs. of government "service", and I don't need facts to back up my opinions, but I can tell this Clarke guy's a deceitful snake. I don't need to read a long, trashy book to tell me what my gut, and my ideology already knows! Honestly, if the stock market had this much bull, I'd still have a job. And that's a fact!
