Rating: Summary: Josiah ??? Review: I'm glad Josiah took the time to go to the library and report to us what "others" think of this book. His time would have been better spent READING it.
Rating: Summary: One Star is One Star Too Many Review: If I'd been allowed to give this book zero stars, that is what I'd have given it. Parts are good, but those are overshadowed by many deficiencies. If I had to single out one problem it would be internal conflict. The book is made up of a series of studies each of which makes at least one conclusion. The problem is that these conclusions contradict each other. The editor has attempted to tie the studies together with a running narrative that is nothing short of intellectual slight of hand. If you feel compelled to read the book, stick to the sections by Kizzia and Livingston, but take even those with a grain of salt.
Rating: Summary: What is it going to take to wake people up? Review: It amazes me how people, even when shown scientific evidence, still refuse to believe that our beloved government could ever cover anything up. Assassination Science does not offer an absolute answer to who and why but it certainly does provide enough scientific evidence that things have been covered up and tampered with, which is exactly what the book was meant to do. There is no "he said she said" about it. It is by far some of the best documentation that I have ever seen. Although it gets a bit repetitive and wordy at times, the points are well made. Even the Government admitted a probable assassination long before this book came out. It was enlightening to read about actual scientific studies and experiments rather than stories from anonymous sources that may or may not be true.
Rating: Summary: Wast of Money Review: It is because of this book and the other books James Fetzer wrote with his dishonest pack, that people have lost so much interest in the JFK Assassination. Honest authors like Harold Weisberg and David Wrone attract less attention because they only published what they could prove and not what they dream up. The Z-film was altered, many know this, the Warren Commission published it in volume 18 (18H1-84) with frames missing. In case you don't know this, that counts as alteration. Z-film tampering was not to the extent that Fetzer claims such as painting Jackie's face on the film itself. The film was not stolen, or doctored up in anyway. No one would be dumb enough to take that risk.
Rating: Summary: Courageous and Meticulous Review: James Fetzer is not a criminologist or a investigator. He has no law enforcement training and he doesn't know what to look for in regards to the evidence. His book is evidence that BS sells. A professor of philosophy will try to convince you that fantasy is indeed reality. One example of the dishonesty of the book is the constant harping that Lee H. Oswald, the murderer of JFK and police officer Tippet, was drinking a coke on the second floor of the TSBD at the time of the killing of JFK. If Fetzer did his homework honestly, he would know that Officer Baker and Roy Truly, Oswald's supervisor, both stated to the WC that Oswald had nothing in his hands when they confronted him in the lunch room. Baker stated that Oswald was moving at a good clip when he first saw him. Oswald was not eating lunch nor was he drinking a coke. The Oswald-apologists need to have Oswald drinking a coke in order to manufacture this alibi.

Rating: Summary: Eliminates any doubts that there was a conspiracy Review: James Fetzer's "Assassination Science" dissects the facts, theories, and possibilities surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy. No stone is left unturned as the author exhaustively sorts through the details of this important historical event. It is hard to believe that some people still naively think that Oswald acted alone in committing this crime. The supporter's of the Warren Commission's final decision are often stubbornly loyal to the lone gunman theory. But one has to wonder about the motives of these individuals. For example, are the members of the American Medical Association who agree with the Warren Commission really that naive and ignorant, or are they involved in a cover up? Many WC loyalists are well - educated, intelligent people. So, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that some of these people (those in government, the AMA, etc) must surely be involved in a cover up. Fetzer's decision to resign from the AMA, given all of the dishonesty and secrecy attributed to this group of so- called professionals, was admirable. One omission from this book that surprised me is the role of Jack Ruby, Oswald's assassin. Fetzer focuses his efforts on the conspiracy theory and the possibility of the involvement of more than one assassin. I agree that this is the most important part of the case, but what about Jack Ruby? I think his involvement in the conspiracy deserves some mention. This book provides conclusive evidence that there was a conspiracy. There are simply too many unanswered questions, too many odd occurances, and too much suspicious behavior to think otherwise. I am convinced!
Rating: Summary: Factual Review: Mr. Fetzer has provided a virtual cornucopia of hard data supporting the critics of the Warren Report. This is a book that must be read by -not only- every student of the JFK assassination, but anyone who assumes they understand how American power politics dominates this country. Judging from the book's content of data, facts and scientific method, this book deserves a five star rating. Thanks Dr. Fetzer
Rating: Summary: JFK review of Assassination Science Review: Newspapers are reluctant to publish any thing about the JFK death because so many were involved. So many were paid off, half the mob were murdered. Makes a mere mortal scared. The evidence described in this book is just fabulous, and I think they have made a most admirable job of detecting the real events. Jacks murder was covered up at the highest level. The ONLY person who was never told of the impending assassination was Bobby. I'm surprised Jackie didn't wear black that day. These people in this book can rest easily and know they have solved the murder, but putting names forward of the actual murderers may be hard, but the cover up covers a few presidents, half the government of the time and the rest of the Kennedy family. A most interesting book indeed.
Rating: Summary: The 'case closed' forever reopened Review: One tends to drift through books on the Kennedy assassination, forever suspicious, never satisfied, as hypotheses tend to come and go,cancelling each other out, leaving one the luxury of 'interesting, but doubtful' by way of non-conclusion. This book scotches that in its tracks. With this treatment by a series of qualified investigators a new standard is set, and the result is a fixation of facts that, to use the philosophic terminology of one contributor, thresholds issues of Popperian falsifiability, to say nothing of Foucauldian analyses of truth and power. A compilation of experts, for once, the book focuses less on the speculative exotica of the Assassination Legend, and fairly well settles the quest of the authenticity of the Xrays, the diagrams of Kennedy's brain, and the Zapruder film. Especially the latter is, contrary to initial intuition, suddenly seen as altogether suspect in an exacting series of analyses, as the tampering seems to become transparent, starting with the gross violations of the 'chain of evidence' procedures normal in such cases. It is therefore a close shave indeed for the 'lone gun man' theory. As to who the whodunit are I will leave anyone interested to the theory of Evelyn Lincoln, Kennedy's secretary, quoted in the text. Another perfect crime by somewho's associated with the higher functions of the Yankee Doodle system, maybe. But probably not a lone gunman.
