Summary: A Wonderful Book
Review: An even-handed, gentle guide to Wicca. Perfect for beginners.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A good beginner's book for any pagan
Review: Although I am pagan and not Wiccan, this book has been an excellent resource for me as far as the very basics. Since I am not going to pursue the Wiccan path itself, I ddin't want something overly detailed; nor did I want something biased towards a certain tradition. This is excellent for anyone on any pagan path just starting hir journey. It has some good basic spells, and allows for a lot of fleixibility. I higly recommend using it along with Weiser's "A Book of Pagan Rituals"

And who is this scutler child who keeps being a hair-brain?

Summary: Wonderful guide for the solitary
Review: For anyone interested in the earth bound religions, this a wonderful guide for both the beginner and the advanced prationer alike. Written simply but in depth, this book is a must have for any solitary. With not only the how to's but also stressing the "harm none" theory through out. I highly reccomend it.

Summary: Take heart children of the God/dess
Review: While others will frown upon you for setting out on the path of the Craft, never doubt that you like all living creatures are conected to the Lord and Lady. Do not listen to those who try to bring the fall of what is not theirs. This book is a top notch tool for the begining Witch, and it is full of great information on the Craft. A note to the beginer: Don't be like me and try to start spells and rituals in the begining. There is nothing wrong with spells and rituals, but you should focus on the religious/scientific prinsipals of Witchcraft to start. This book will help. Remember my words, and Blessed Be.

Summary: Don't have someone to look up to for guidance?
Review: Cunningham was the first author I read on the subject of Wicca. He is very easy to read and understand and soon love. It is very hard to find books out there that appeal to the Solitare... I highly recommend this book to the newcomers. May the Goddess be with you, every step of the way.

Summary: A very informative and interesting read
Review: This was my first book on Wicca. It was very informative, and was an interesting read. But it didn't have very many spells.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful, gentle introduction to the Craft
Review: Cunningham was truly one of the most important writers in the modern Craft movement and his loss was a loss to the whole community. It sounds pretentious to call this "a book that changes lives" but I hear that very phrase repeated almost every time I hear someone talk about this work. So many books on Wicca assume far too much knowledge, make ridiculous claims, or read like an engineering textbook. Cunningham had a true gift for stating the most profound truths in the most simple prose. His style was warm and moving as well as informative. He is often criticized for presenting an over-simplified picture, but too much more information would have by necessity become denominationally specific and I think he knew this. If you want more in-depth info, check out Living Wicca.

Summary: Excellent book for beginners!
Review: Scott Cunningham takes the reader through the Wicca religion in an easy-to-understand manner. He does not use complicated terminology, but instead explains quite clearly the meanings and practices behind Wicca. I would greatly recommend this book to any person who wishes to journey down the Wiccan path or to any person who is simply curious.

Summary: Wonderful book for starting out
Review: This is a wonderful, extensive book on Wicca fo rthe solitary. At first, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do much, since I was new to the Path, and had absolutley no clue what I was doing, even though I was deeply interested. This book changed that. From the introduction to The Standing Stones Book of Shadows, it's a fully expansive book. Unlioke most books, it does not automaticly assume you know everything. It covers the very basics of Wicca, from the Deities to Nature, to Rune magic and chants and invocations. It also had a very clever writing system; it forced you to read the background before launching into spells. This made sure only those truly interested actually read the book.

If there is anyone out there who wants to join Wicca, but there is no local coven they can contact, this book is a must. And if you just want to see what Wicca is, this book is also a great one to read. Also, there is Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Prcactitoner by the same author.

Blessed Be!

Summary: Very good for beginners
Review: When I was first curious about Wicca, I read this book. It helped me very much. This is a must read from a witch who has helped our religion to shine. Brightest blessings!
