Summary: for those who want to know
Review: Scott Cunningham's books are very simple to understand. if you are not sure of things and want to know then his books are the ones to read

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Beginner Introduction, but There's More
Review: Cunningham's book is quite good for a basic introduction to Eclectic Paganism with a Wiccan slant, however, he is wrong when he states that his book contains everything you need to know. It's good basic information to begin with, but if you're seriously interested in Wicca, continue on to other authors.

The good thing about this book, as with all of Scott's books, is his sincerity and gentle introduction. It's a good book to show a non-Pagan parent/spouse/etc. about what Paganism is.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An excellent guide ... but not the sole source
Review: No book can give you everything... but this one gives you a lot of helpful info. When combined with a few others, you'll have a prime Magickal library. It is helpful also to those working in groups, or just learning about Wiccan rites.

Summary: Wicca; A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner
Review: When I found this book I was very excited. Now I could realy learn about the craft. And I did. This book is great, especially
for the beginner, who knows almost nothing about wicca.
I lent this book to my grandmother, because she looked at me funny, when I told her I was in to witchcraft. She read it, and liked it. Now I feel like she understands me better, and maybe dont worry as much.
I look forward to reading other books by Scott, and hope they are as good as this one.
All witches start somewhere, and this book is a good place.
It was for me. Blessed Be. :-)

Summary: Unbelievable Masterpiece
Review: Scott Cunnigham is very informative. A wonderful guide for those beginning and who do not have the access to others of like mind around them. I have been following his insights and teachings and I am very happy and will continue to follow him through his other books and the ones that he suggests.

Summary: Excellent beginning
Review: Excellent beginning to the world of Wicca. I am just learning and this book taught me so much. Of course I am in the process or reading more, but this book really gave me the basics in an easy to understand way that will help with everything else I read. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about Wicca, whether to study it or just out of curiosity.

Summary: keep it
Review: If only you know the things I know abouth the book you would read it.

Summary: A fantastic beginning book on Wicca!
Review: Despite what some "wiccan traditionalists" would say, this book is terrific. It gives a great overview of the religion, with lots of hints, tips and tricks for those who want to start up in the religion. Not much in the way of actual spells or rituals, but a great overview!

Summary: Very Informative
Review: This is a good book for beginers, solitaries, and even the more 'expeirenced' Wiccan. IMHO, everyone can learn from this book. It sets back to the 'simple' principles, and also reminds one that there is no 'true way' as some would have you believe. I think this book is great for beginers, because it lets one run free, and sets out from the begining that even the authors way, isn't necessarily right. I think it should be in every Wiccan's library of books, and serves a good lesson to those who'd have you believe you are wrong.

Summary: Outstanding Introduction
Review: This was my introduction to Wicca and it served me as a good foundation that opened several doors that I would have otherwise not found.

Looking back on it now that I have been practicing for longer and have been coven trained, I still recognize it as an excellent book for those who are just entering the Craft or more advanced, coven-trained students who would like a good perspective on solitary work.

I have a few personal disagreements with Scott Cunningham on the nature of magic and certain principles, however, these hardly detract from the quality of the book as a wonderful guide and introduction.
