Rating: Summary: Very well (re)done! Review: A great re-write of the previous book with a new beautiful cover and more pictures and instructions inside. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Rating: Summary: Decent book, could be better. Review: Be very careful if you are going to CUT your hair in a vintage style using this book. I just tried it and am very disappointed. I had my hair cut using the "long-length" directions (the author cited Rita Hayworth and Lana Turner as examples). I own almost every Rita Hayworth movie and I know for a fact that her hair was never this short. It is NOT a long-length style. It is tooooo short. Now, I can no longer style my hair in any 40's rolls, so most of this book is now useless to me. Three inches of hair on the side is not enough to do anything...and it looks like a mullet.
My advice...copy the styles but NOT the cuts!
Rating: Summary: So much fun! Review: Even if you never try these hairstyles on your own this book is highly enjoyable. As a fan, collector, and dabbler of recreating vintage styles and period looks, this book is hard to put down. It's an illustrated history lesson, PLUS it has tons of actual practical information on how the looks were achieved in the 1940s and suggestions on how you too can achieve the looks. I was very impressed with the depth of information in the book and the Hollywood starlet pics are a plus. :) It's a slim text but packs a lot. This book is very high on the glamour meter. I plan on buying all of Daniela Turidich's books! Highly recommended!

Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I bought this book for a hair stylist friend of mine who works in a trendy salon with lots of rockabilly clients. It was the perfect gift for her because while most books just show photographs, Daniela Turudich went the extra mile and included cutting and styling techniques. The diagrams are very thorough and are basically a step-by-step guide to achieving the perfect 1940's hairstyle. Not to say that there aren't great photographs included as well, because there most certainly are. Needless to say, she loved the book. And I got a sassy new hairstyle out of it too!
Rating: Summary: The best hair book yet! Review: I found this book to be just incredible in its illustration on how to work with ones own hair. Not just for the forties style but with some imagination, for creating contemporary hairstyles for those who prefer not to have that straight look. In spite of its compact size, this book is a cornucopia of all kinds of hair tips from haircutting to parting the hair so that one can work easily and change ones look instantly. It has become my bible of hair fashion for sure. I can't wait to order the rest of this series. I love it, I love it, love it!
Rating: Summary: Directions could be better, but a nice collection of photos Review: I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. I'm just waiting for my hair to grow long enough to do lots of tricky stuff with it. But the general head-ful of pin curls look so CUTE! I have both of Daniela Turudich's vintage hair books, and this one is FAR better than the first one, as it's more detailed with actual instructions. If you love the vintage/retro look and you DON'T buy it... you're a fool!

Rating: Summary: asset to the vintage people!! Review: I own a vintage bridal shop & am excited to offer hairstyles to coordinate with the gowns I sell!! Glad I got this one before it was "off the shelf"!!
Rating: Summary: Great 1940's Hairstyle Book! Review: I own this book and love it!! I'm trying to find all the others in her series. They just don't make good books about vintage hairstyles. I've just been looking at pictures and attempting to make it look similar. This book is a jem! It helped me connect the look and how to get it on my head. It's not a 5 star book because it's not a descriptive as I'd like. You really have to think about what the author means at certain points, but you'll eventually get it and understand her methods easily.
