Summary: Cinematherapy: The girls' guide to movies for every mood
Review: I loved 'Cinematherapy' as it included a lot of the oldies but goodies besides the current fare of movies. Reading this book sent me to Blockbusters to check out some of those movies I loved but had long ago forgotten. This book makes a wonderful gift (bought several for daughter, daughter-in-law, etc.) as it is crosses those generation lines and gives women of all ages reason to smile and nod knowingly together. The witty text has you reading the book with a grin on your face and gives you enough laugh-out-loud experiences to make one's husband want to know "what's so funny"--you know that you would thoroughly enjoy lunching with these "girls."

Summary: Take it with you to blockbuster
Review: I loved this book! Particularly the "Girl flicks that are really guy flicks" reviews. If I'd add anything, it would be blank pages for new reviews in the back!

Summary: Rush me to the video store, but not in South America...
Review: I read this book cover to cover, as if it were a good novel. It gave me such an itch to go out to my local video store, then hunker down with a huge amount of salty snacks, and while away my Sunday afternoons watching great old movies. The only problem is that I'm in Paraguay, South America, and the selection in the video stores is slimmer than the anorexic women here. Next time I'm home though, I will be in that video store, Cinematherapy book in hand, indexed with post-its even, and I will watch any movie my girl-mood calls for. Loved the book. Can't wait to use it until it's fully dog-eared.

Summary: Good idea, poorly executed!
Review: I'm not a girl, but I am an author in the relationship genre so I used this book as a reference (finding movies as a way of illustrating points). This is a clever study...and I think as a man, very opinionated. It's written by women for women and the humor is something that us men don't find particularly funny. But the truth is it's not written for us guys. I think women will find this interesting and will help point out obscure movies to rent for quiet evenings. The truth is that movies provide a common reference for relationship scenarios. That's why I chose this book to help me locate movies that provided background for my writing. I think it should be selling better.

Summary: Warm and Fuzzy!
Review: It's a sin to worry, and with this book you will get a prescription for the right movie to view, and the movie will advise you on what action to take to overcome the obstacle that you have. Time heals all wounds, and this book will also heal.

Summary: PMS NO MORE!
Review: My boyfriend got me this book for Christmas and it has to be one of my favorite presents I've recieved in several years. It is right on the money for what any girl is suffering from: whether it be a bad case of the PMS blues, the homicidal mother issues, or the case of wanting to get in touch with your inner self. I loved it so much I bought it for my best friend for her birthday. I do have to say that I disagree with one point: I would not want to have a beer with Sandra Bullock.

Summary: Champagne and Milano cookies
Review: Nothing compares to sitting down to a good flick with a bottle of cheap (but good) champagne and some Milano cookies. Especially when you know ahead of time that the movie you've rented is going to be good. "Cinematherapy..." breaks down some of the best "chick flicks" out there into amusing categories, that really do fit whatever mood you might be in. Although this book is not a scholarly read, anyone that can appreciate what it feels like to relate to a movie in such a way that it moves you to laugh and/or cry can understand how great this book really is. If you are looking for an educated and serious look into movies, don't buy this book. But, if your mom is crazy and you're looking for a movie that portrays your situation, "Cinematherapy..." is just what you need.

Summary: The Boys guide too...
Review: Perhaps it was just the girlness in Nancy and Beverly that caused them to narrow the gender of movie goers who could benefit from the Cinematherapy guide. Boys have moods too. I don't wish to be obscene but we have an equivalent to PMS. The difference is we tend to be drawn to girls rather than being repelled by them at our moment of crises. Our mood compells us to be close, real close, to girls. Only when the mood is not satisfied do boys manifest the same simptoms as girls experiencing PMS. I awoke this morning with SMP (the oposite of PMS). Being alone I snatched Nancy and Beverly's book from among the stack of books on my table, which I intuitively knew would do nothing for my compelling urge. Browsing the book my eyes focused on page 79, the title of the film suggested there is "Working Girls" (1986). Off to my neighborhood video store, Back home with the film, into the VCR, and within the first ten minutes my SMP began to loose some of its potency. Without a doubt, I will use Cinematherapy to assuage other moods. Thanks Nancy and Beverly. P.S. Remember the boys next time.

Summary: Just Awful
Review: Really trivializes movies. Not for the true movie fan. Typical fluff , all concept, all stupidity.
