Summary: Must Buy for any Wonder Woman Fan
Review: This book is stunning; there's no other word for it. The art design is by Chip Kidd, who also designed the gorgeous Batman: Animated hardcover. Beautifully reproduced pages from her early stories interspersed with photos of antique Wonder Woman toys, dolls, and DC promotional items complete the experience. The fact that it is so much fun to leaf through and enjoy Kidd's layout is probably why these books (Kidd designed all three Complete Histories, as well) earned the unfair 'coffee table' label. Fans of the television show will be happy to know that there are plenty of photos from the series included as well as an introduction by Lynda Carter, which is a nice nod to the permanent association many of us have between the actress and the character.

Summary: A Wonder-ful herstory
Review: This highly pictorial history (or should I say "herstory") of Wonder Woman has just about everything in it that you could want. Beginning with Wonder Woman's origination in the mind of Harvard-trained psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston, continuing through to her rebirth as the new Wonder Woman in 1968, through Gloria Steinem's work to bring her back, through the television show, through today. Along the way there are many reproductions of comic book covers and comics, pictures of paraphernalia (e.g. toys, cards, macaroni, etc.), and sidebars discussing such things as lie detectors, other comic book heroines, and such.

This is a great book that taught me many things that I did not know, about her origins, who she was written for and why. I recommend this book to everyone who is interested in Wonder Woman or in comic books in general.

Summary: Worthy of Diana
Review: This is a fantastic book, I can't say enough good things about it. Absolutely gorgeous visually, it's also meticulously researched, having found information that's been buried for almost 60 years. From the complex and fascinating William Moulton Marston to the enigmatic Harry G. Peter, through Robert Kanigher and into the modern decades with Perez and Byrne, it's a book to get lost in for any fan of Wonder Woman. Author Les Daniels, photographer Geoff Spear, DC editor Steve Korté and everyone involved have outdone themselves. Diana deserves nothing less.

Summary: A great book on the history of Wonder Woman!
Review: This is an excellent book on the history of Wonder Woman. I learned a lot of things on the character's past that I was amazed to find out from this book. Wonder Woman, along with Superman and Batman, are the longest running characters from DC Comics. Author Les Daniels did an excellent job on his research.

Wonderfully illustrated with photographs of comic book covers, pages, and various merchandise of the past, this book is for all fans of the Amazon warrior and comic book fans in general.

Summary: American Nostalgia At It's Best
Review: This is the best series of books I have ever read! I also have the volume on Superman. What a great presentation of information that is fun to read plus "educational" for a true fan. I of course mostly remember Wonder Woman as Linda Carter on the t.v. series. This was my vision of the character growing up. This led the way for the brilliant work on the comic book incarnation in the late eighties. The work of George Perez was detailed, beautiful, and made me read the comic for the first time.

His run on the book, is still one of my favorite runs on any comic, past or present. The book also describes in excellent detail, the work of another landmark artist to work on Wonder Woman, Mike Deodato. Whose Wonder Woman was polished stylized and helped to update her look yet again, showing fans a new side to the character. The work that painter Alex Ross has done on Wonder Woman is amazing. You can see the Linda Carter influenece in how he paints her. Kindom Come, the book Ross did about aged DC heroes, showed Wonder Woman as eternally honorable, beautiful, strong and willfull character. This series made her a more enjoyable character. Even though I can honstly say I'm not a hardcore Wonder Woman fan, this book was excellent to help fill in the gaps in the character's history that to this point I did not know.

I recoomend this book, or any of it's counterparts to those who are interested in the myths and legends of some of this countries most eduring icons. I sincerely give my highest recommendations to this book.
