Summary: In need of a lot of editing
Review: I grew up in the South End of Springfield MA, the home of the main characters in this book. The book appears to have been printed without benefit of professional editing. Tense changes, abrupt changes of story line. Incomprehensible dialog, spelling, usage, and on and on. However I enjoyed it because I lived across the street from the York St Jail often mentioned; I knew and worked for a couple of the "bosses" while caddying at a local golf course, I'm related (via an uncle's marriage) to a couple of the politicians, and one of my uncles was one of "the boys." Also, I knew the author slightly (he is younger than me,) but his brothers and I attended school at the same time. I know the family. I know the area, I knew the real characters.

The story is interesting, the plot is I suppose feasible, and the characters are and were real, albeit poorly disguised.

I'll read it again without regard to writing technique. Its worth reading if you're interested in mob activity in Western Mass. It pretty accurately describes the activities of a lot of the guys I knew when I was a kid.
