Summary: The Deadly Thorn
Review: Soon after Sally Oliver's husband Jimmy leaves for work she receives a 'phone call from a woman who claims to be Jimmy's third wife. Warned that Jimmy has murdered his first two wives, Sally is told she could suffer the same fate. Julia Evans occupies an office next to Sally's in the same company, and is surprised that she hasn't shown up for work, since she almost always arrives before Julia. But Tee, the receptionist, says there has been no word from her. Julie contacts Jimmy who is surprised to hear Sally is not at work. Julia and Jimmy race to the house to see if Sally is home. No Sally, and no trace of her. Julia returns to the offic where there still is no word from her. Finally, Julia thinks Sally might have left a message on Julia's answering machine at home. Sure enough, Sally's frantic voice comes on the line asking her not to tell Jimmy that she called. Her life is in danger. Thus starts a very exciting story of murder, deceit, disguises, forgery and raw brutality. Ms. LaPierre has written an edge-of-the-seat page-turner. The plot is so action filled and closely woven that to tell about any of it would ruin the flow of the story. Suffice it to say that if you like a lot of suspense, don't pass up reading THE DEADLY THORN, and follow three clever women fighting for their lives.
