Review: Trojan Steers was great! It grabbed me from the first chapter. The Texas backdrop was engaging, and learning so much about the cattle industry was an added bonus. J.D. Maples' characters are complicated people, and while there are many candidates for the bad guy, I was still surprised at the end. Yet the surprise ending did not make me feel cheated; there are clues throughout the book and everything made sense. Maples leaves no loose ends. Pay attention! There's a reason he's telling you things.
