Summary: A unique novel any way you look at it.
Review: Bob Larson may not have written one word in this book. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a good story. It's different. It's not one of those 'end times' thrillers, and it's not Peretti. That's a good thing. It's not afraid to take a risk. It's pure story, rarely boring, from the beginning all the way to the end. If you're a fast reader, you'll finish it in a few days. Maybe two. Backstory is kept to a minimum. Most of the characters, especially Wes Bryant, the protagonist, are easy to sympathize with. One thing I should probably warn you about is that this masterpiece is extremely graphic. So graphic, in fact, that I can't believe they were allowed to publish it to the christian market. It'd make a good movie, but I don't think that'll ever happen. The only negative thing I can say about this book is that it's a little TOO easy to read. The narration often seemed chiseled or a little too cut and dry. There's no fascinating prose here---but in this rare exception, that's a good thing, because it makes the story seem more... real. Say what you want, but a lot of the things in this book have happened in the past and are probably happening now. After reading this book, you may look at evil just a little bit differently. Just a smidge. Highly recommended... if you're not a close-minded bigot. Four stars out of five.

Summary: the reality about Satanism told thru fiction
Review: I'm not sure how much of this book was written by Bob Larson, but it just happens to be one of the best suspense novels I've ever read.

In this chilling story, a radio DJ named Wes Bryant gets a frightening call from a little girl who is the victim of Satanic ritual abuse at the hands of an evil and dangerous secretive cult. It's up to Wes to find her and rescue her before it's too late. This is an extremely compelling tale without a single slow or boring chapter, and I was on the edge of my seat all throughout.

The message here is one of good overcoming evil, and the fact that it's based on bits and pieces of various real incidents of cult crime makes it just that much more poignant. Great read!

Summary: Right on.
Review: This is an outstanding novel. But Bob Larson clearly states afterwards, that it is based on true facts. I would most definately consider this a mature book. DO NOT PICK THIS UP UNLESS YOU ARE READY FOR COLD HARD FACTS! Facts about the occult and what they will do for Satan and for power. The detail in "Dead Air" are are very graphic very gruesome, and yes, very disturbing. The sad thing is, it happens. If Bob Larson just made this up, he's a sick man, but I've heard his radio show, and when he was on TV, I watched his show, and he isn't making this stuff up. If you read this, be ready for a dose of reality.

Make no mistake about it, there is an enemy out there, and his name is Satan. But there also is someone out there, who died for us, and is reaching out to us to save us from the enemy. That someone is Jesus, and he's stronger than anything that the devil can throw at you. With Jesus, that sucker can't touch you!

As a dad with a 2 month old daughter, this book was indeed very sobering.

Many people don't agree with everything Bob Larson says. I don't agree with all his views. But this is right on! And it shouldn't be ignored, for those who have the stomach for it. If you don't have the stomach, call on Jesus! Some will pass this off as nothing more than a sick horror novel. But it is much more than that. It is a wake up call!
